I have one loan that is still outstanding (with Tremont Financial) and it will be paid off next Friday. I got my refund from Geneva Roth, and they haven't sent me anything else (I more than paid them the principal) I got a corrected letter from Cash Advance USA, but requested a debt validation letter and said in my email, and said I will discuss next steps following receipt of that letter and an accounting of how much has been paid to date (I think the loan was only 200$ and I know I made multiple payments on this). I have a big problem and hopefully someone can help me with it. Back 2 months ago, I received a summons to appear in court in Sept because I was being sued for an old ATT wireless bill by Palisades Collection. This was the first I had even heard that this collection had the account nor did I remember ever having this account but i ignored it and decided to go to court. I went to court that day and told the Judge that the account was unfamiliar to me and the first I had heard of it was when I was served the summons.

How do I stop junk debt buyers from selling a debt that was paid in full 3 years ago to other collection companies? I paid this debt in full (not a settled amount, but in full) in March 2003. This year I have gotten calls from 4 different collection companies on this account. I have provided proof of payment in full to each collector and requested they not sell this debt to another company as an unpaid debt, since I have provided proof that this debt is paid. But they continue to sell the debt. Is there anything I can do to stop this process? Thank you for your help.
