I received a call from Gulf State on saturday about a debt I thought was settled with Sherman. I told the man it was settled and I would not pay another dime to him or his affiliates and to stop calling me. He said he believed me and asked me to send him a fax stating it was paid. I did that. I've been expecting a letter from Gulf State so I could send the DV and C and D. Haven't received it yet. I'm wondering what the next step will be. I can't see him taking my word and stopping the collections. Thanks, Cathy

Hi all, Wife had some very old charge off's from CC's that are way out of the SOL for CT (6-yrs) They are no longer on her CR now too. Had a call from a CA the other night that I called back. She wanted the full about / payment plan. Recited the SOL for cc's is 6-yrs, open account, this illedged debt is well past that time and to ceise from calling, *All of that said in the 1st 30-seconds of the call. She took every avenue to try to convince me for wifey to pay the accounts.

Is there any legit banks, etc. that would loan a substancial amount of money so that you could pay off your debts and then only owe the bank? If so any information would be helpful.

A few months ago i ran into hard times and took out payday loans...i have almost 12 of these and I finally had to make an appointment with a BK attorney for Ch. 7.... i stopped paying on these loans a month ago...and now they call me daily a t work and on my cell. Got a call today from Geneva Roth saying i had a formal complaint filed against me. My question is...as soon as i pay my retainer for my atorney can this keep them from calling me?

I am negociating settlements with my creditors. I am told there is a different communication protocol to use with Citibank and ATT Universal cards. Do you know what that protocol is?
