As of Friday all our credit cards will have received payment and we are officially debt free, except for our mortgage, vehicle and regular monthly utilities. This has been a hard road traveled and a valuable lesson learned. Anyway, my question is, one of the credit card companies have stated that they are going to marked the account as paid settlement, which there was no settlement, it was in consolidation. They stated that if I pay them an extra $37.00 they will delete the account from the credit report.

Where should I send my validation letter? I live in Texas. Should I send to the San Antonio Address or to the Michigan office, should i send to the physical address or to PO Box. Which addresses are the latest? Any advice will greatly be appreciated?

Hi, I got a letter via UPS today from the Law Offices of Scott P. Lowry. It says that they are making an arbitration claim against me with the National Arbitration Forum. I do not know how to respond to this and what the ultimate consequences of this are. I am only recently learning about all this debt stuff. I had been unemployed for 2 years and am just trying to get back on my feet. I never knew to send a request for validation letter so I did not.

The Administrator of consumer affairs sent me copies of 2 Cease and Desist letters he sent out for me. In them it states that the loan is null and void and the debtor(me) is not obligated to pay the principal nor the finance charges. Says they may initiate civil and criminal charges...so, if i take copies of these to my bank am i entitled to a refund of my NSF charges from at least these 2 companies debits? Or will consumer affairs handle that too?

I owed Direct Merchant Bank $4,000 in Credit card, now they turn it over with the collection agency then to the lawfirm in my state. they took me to court and of course i'm stupid and make a payment arrangement agreement to avoid going to court but I miss one month payment and now the lawfirm told me that I'm in defualt for missing the payment, and that if i don't pay they will take more action, I cannot pay more than what they are asking me. so they took me back to court and got another judgement againts me. I have to answer the court order that says, Interrogatory after Judgement.

Hello, I sent a DV letter which also included a C&D to LVNV funding. The 30 days is not up yet. My question is why did they stop calling before they got the letter? I'm not complaining but they called 4 and 5 times a day and then just stopped. Do they stop calling after they send out the first letter? I'm hoping they realized I've already paid this debt. Hi all, This is my first post to this site. I have about 10 PDLs outstanding. I closed my bank account since I could no longer afford bills while paying all of the interest. I live and work in PA. I have defaulted about a week ago, and haven't contacted my PDL's yet. I am looking for advice on what to do. How to contact them and what to say. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm so glad I found this site.
