Really Really freaking out over here

19 years 7 months ago
i really got in a bad jam. i had way too many credid card bills and payday loans out and got desperate. i got these 2 short term loans from a loanshark near here to keep these people off my back for a while. i really figured to pay these guys right away because my uncle is in the hospital and was supposed to die, but he didn't. my mother said he was leaving me a pretty good chunck of cash but the guy didn't die and now it looks like hes gonna live a while.

Does anyone have an email address (one that actually works) for Discount Advances? I can't seem to get through to anyone by phone or fax, and any email that I have received from them you can't reply to.

Section on state laws

19 years 7 months ago
Hi LessIsMore The section mentioned by you can be an interesting contribution in the forum. All good ideas are welcome. I will start working with my technical team and launch the new segment ASAP. Your research towards the state laws is invaluable. Once the new forum is online, feel free to contribute your knowledge on the legal aspects which is still not known to many people. Regards Vikas

Someone please help me.

I just received a call on my office phone from a woman who only indentified herself as "Worman" (a last name, I guess?) who proceeded to tell me that she represented a loan company I borrowed money from (a pay day loan place) and that she was calling to inform me that they were going to file charges for "malicious intent to defraud a loan company" and that they were going to send someone to my apartment (she had my address) to depose me on the spot. She asked for my attorney's name, I told her I would have to get back to her, and she said "good day" pretty rudely and hung up the phone.

Hello, anyone out there with experience with this collection attorney? I have them hounding me regarding a Bank of America account, and they are truly the devil....will they pursue legal action on a $2000 balance?

Signing up to receive calls from counselors/ T&C vs. others

19 years 7 months ago
Okay, I've read several post of people asking for T&C's contact information. Now I've also read several post from people saying they are waying their options to see what program they want to go with. How do you get to talk to different company's. I've only had one call me so far, but I would like to talk to T&C as well to see what my options are but I don't have time to wait and build up 5000 points. My first call was from Consumer Credit Couseling of America. I liked the fact that they said my PDL's would be paid off in 7 months. Does that seem reasonable?

How much do you charge for this service? Is it possible to knock money off my credit cards because a lot of it is interest?

Some debt just extras.

19 years 7 months ago
I find it strange everyone stresses the debt is owed. I find that a lot of debt is not what is owed, but the added fees, services, charges and strange one year contracts that have a few days before and/or a few days after that add another months fee. The true debt is one thing. The collections for that last month or that $40 one day late fee are the ones I tell them to sue for. No one has yet. And it takes one letter cc to the three credit places to get it off a credit report. I also find telling them ahead of time only seems to speed up their collection processes.

Paid in full letters from pdl's

19 years 7 months ago
I have a question to put before all of you. I've been working thru a debt solutions company for this mess I got myself into with pdl's. Anyway, many of the pdl's are paid off now. I'm sure these Payday loan companies are not going to 'voluntarily' send me a letter that states 'paid in full' so I probably need to contact them. Should I do this in writing? or should I contact them via phone? I'm leaning towards the 'in writing' side. What do you all nice people think? Thanks all for your input. Rayray
