ex-husband must have file incorrectly, lawyer now deceased..

19 years 7 months ago
Before I was married, my husband-to-be and I filed bankruptcy together. At the time, (this was 1992) I was young and naive so I let him handle everything. Since the divorce, I got my credit report and all the items he should have filed on are still showing, as well as the bankruptcy itself. I don't know if it has ever been discharged or anything. The attorney has since died, and I can't seem to find out who would have my records. I'm not sure if that would matter anyway, as he was also my husband's divorce attorney. Maybe there would be a conflict of interest now?

Confused about SOL

19 years 7 months ago
I live in Kentucky and I'm very confused about the whole SOL thing. I have a few credit card accounts that was opened in Jan. 2001, and June 2001 and I haven't made a payment on either of these accounts. How do I calculate when the SOL will expire? Is it from the Date Opened, Date Reported or Date of Last Payment? Any help would be greatly appericated. Thanks. carebear.

19 years 7 months ago
Hello everyone, this is my first time here. I stumbled onto this forum when I was researching a loan company called Personal Financial Services, which I am now going to stay away from. My story is probaly going to be familiar to many but I am pretty stressed out and dreading everyday. Currently I am not working and have no savings. I am behind $1,200 on my rent, have one payday loan for $565.00 which is due on 6/15/06 and that I have no idea how I am going to pay. I have outstanding cell and land line phone bills and utility bills.

1099's and PDL's

19 years 7 months ago
Why do PDL's not supply 1099 forms to report on your year end tax return? Every legit loan I ever had always supplied a 1099 at tax time. Are PDL's not reporting earnings to the IRS?

My Story

19 years 7 months ago
My Debt Story was not brought on by a lack of money, but by a lack of judgment. It all started in 1999 when I filed my first extension on my Taxes. The deadline came and went. Right after I filed the extension I started playing video games online. I spent from 3pm until 1-2am or later playing non stop. I put my bills aside and before I knew it they were starting to to add up. I paid a few off but then I became even more addicted to the games. My taxes still were not being done. In 2004 the IRS prepared my 2000 taxes and claimed I owed them 13k dollars.

Need some guidance

I received a call tonight from ER Solutions in Renton Washington. This was the first time I spoke with them. Last night they left the first message for me on the phone and I had no idea what they were collecting for and wanted to do some research before calling them back. They say they represent Citibank/Gateway for a past due balance of $262.45 on an account that I thought was paid off by a Consumer credit counseling program I was in for several years. (It is possible that they are right.

does this sound normal?

19 years 7 months ago
I just got a voicemail from my DS place... they called to ask if i could pay anything on my discover account to avoid litigation. i haven't called them back yet, but this really really ticked me off, i'm already paying each month what i can afford (actually a bit more than i can afford) to the debt settlement people. Since i'm just now two months in, well, i don't have anything built up to pay them anything. i suppose I could get a few bucks from the folks, but it's gonna be a sad, sad amount. is this normal? throw a few crumbs to keep the wolves off your back?
