Okay--I received a bill in the mail on October 6,2005 from CCA (collection company of America) concerning a cingular debt. I sent out a letter to them on October 26, 2005 disputing this debt and asking for validation. Still haven't gotten it or heard anything else from them about it. Got a new credit report today and they're on it. Isn't this illegal for them to report to the bureaus when I have disputed and asked for validation? On the back of the statement is my 30 day right to dispute and ask for verification and they will obtain it for me. They didn't.

...just got off the phone with their supervisor and explained my situation. He was very nice and extended me two more weeks without fees to get them paid. Trucking right along today, only 3 more to call and hopefully will have success. One thing he did say was if anyone has any pdl's they can't pay CALL THE CREDITOR'S first. It's much better and most will work with you if you can't pay.

Hello to everyone! This is my first time here and I am so looking forward to getting some good answers. From what I have read I really like the repsonses. My situation is about the same as all of you. I took out a payday back in November of 2005. The loan was for $200. This loan has turned into a $1600 loan. It was never my intention not to pay it back, but things do happen.

My credit union has been a pain to work with - is there an alternative to closing my checking account? Some of the PDL companies are continuously trying to debit my account, each time that happens, I incur a $24 fee. I have paid so many salaries in the past month, its ridiculous.

Ok, so this is a continuation post stemming from another thread I had started. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction. I had a Citibank card that went to charge off and was bought by NCO. I settled and paid off the settlement with NCO in 5/2003. Equifax still shows the account as an open collection.

Well, I talked with a counselor today and it went very well. I talked with Jack Coleman Law Offices for about 45 minutes and within minutes he was able to let me know what would happen as far as my debt and interest rates and terms. Apparently, being about $7000 in debt right now, would take about 36 years to pay off because of the high interest and finance charges. He said he could have me debt free in 36 months. My question to you all is, have any of you heard of Coleman Law Offices? They are located in Deerfield Beach, FL. I would make payments via auto-debit each month.
