Settled my account with ADC

19 years 11 months ago
I have been getting calls for three years from these guys. I am finally able to pay the bill and get them off my back. I got them to lower the bill over 1/2. They don't have a heart just a mouth and finally will be able to get them off of my voicemail and Axx.

What happens next after a judgment is made against me?

19 years 11 months ago
If a judgment against me is granted by the judge in my upcoming trial for an unpaid credit card debt, what happens next? I am unemployed so there is no wages to garnish and I have no bank account. Can they make my husband pay the judgment even if he is not involved in the case? His name is not on the credit card nor was he a co-signer on the card. I do have a home and we are still paying a mortgage on it. Can they put a lien on the house or take our car? I am with a debt settlement program and am trying to pay all my debts through them.

I am still trying to figure out if my state (PA) allows restrictive endorsements. I have received an offer from Orchard Bank several times with restrictive endorsements, does that mean it is accepted in my state?

20/20 Episode on Skip-tracing

19 years 11 months ago
Anyone see the 20/20 episode about skip-tracing the other night? Apparently some skip-tracing moron led an abusive man to his wife that was in hiding from him, by getting her cell phone and new address then giving it out. So, now they are calling for stricter laws on skip-tracing.

Tips when dealing with CA's

19 years 11 months ago
Here is some info I found on a website, some of this stuff I did not know.....like about not giving a check by phone, I am guilty of doing that. The website I found this on is: budhibbs.com ATTENTION CONSUMERS! If you are CONTACTED by a Debt Collector: NEVER give them your banking or credit card information. They will take much more than you authorize. NEVER do 'checks by phone' as debt collectors could empty your bank account, you have no recourse. NEVER send them money via Western Union. REMEMBER: Debt Collectors have NO power and NO authority and should NEVER be trusted.

asset aceptance llc contacting me for unknown Bally's acc.

A few weeks ago I recieved a letter from these guys saying I owed them money for a bally's account. I never was a member there so I sent them a dispute letter asking for validation and all the documents required for proof of the debt. Today I recieved another letter but I recieved none of the requested info except for a paper that said "last transaction date" with no date provided and the principle fee and interest, with no sign of how it was calculated or anything of that nature. Below my name and adress was listed with a partial S.S# that did not match mine.

Allied interstate collections - any complaints?

19 years 11 months ago
I had an account go to allied interstate (actually my husband's account), and when we first got the letter from them, I sent a letter of validation and to only correspond by mail. Never heard anything from them. I am enrolled in a debt settlement program and sent the Allied info to the attorney. Now, suddenly Allied is calling my husband's cell phone! How did they even manage to get that number? He never gives it out to businesses, especially since the cell phone is not in his name...it is a company cell phone.

What to expect during a trial?

19 years 11 months ago
I have to appear in court in March due to being sued by Citicorp for a credit card balance. I am enrolled in a debt settlement program, and they told me what to send out to the court and the Plaintiff's lawyer to show why I cannot pay the balance except through working with the settlement program. If the matter is not resolved before trial date I will have to appear in court and I would just like to know what to expect if that happens. I realize the experience will be humiliating but is it like a trial we see on tv?
