I received a letter from Mann Bracken, LLC. They state in the letter that: The contract that your original Cicuit City account provides for the resolution of claims or disputes by means of arbitration. -AND- My firm is not licensed to practice law in your jurisdiction and will not persue any legal action in the state or federal courts. So, the account is going into arbitration? What does that mean? And if they are not allowed to practice law in my state (NY), then why are they contacting me to resolve the matter?

We consolidated our student loans from the US dept of education in March of 2004. We got 1098 e forms from all the direct loans that were paid off. We consolidate my dh's loan to another company because they are just sucky. now they are telling me that he doesnt get the interest that was paid when it was paid off becuse the money came from a "consolidation" company. BULL PUCKEY!! It was paid on my dh's behalf.

This is the company that likes to call and tell you that they are going to press criminal charges if you dont call them back, blah blah. They collect for defaulted providian credit card. Well They didnt give me the paperwork I wanted in Aug. THen they call in Nov and threaten me. I called back and let them know that I am NOT one to be played with that what they were doing was ILLEGAL and unethical. I dont care what they do, but they cant file NO criminal case first of all against my dh because defualt is not criminal.
