This is the company that likes to call and tell you that they are going to press criminal charges if you dont call them back, blah blah. They collect for defaulted providian credit card. Well They didnt give me the paperwork I wanted in Aug. THen they call in Nov and threaten me. I called back and let them know that I am NOT one to be played with that what they were doing was ILLEGAL and unethical. I dont care what they do, but they cant file NO criminal case first of all against my dh because defualt is not criminal.

Does charge off account come off your CR from the date paid off or first time in default?

Ok, I know I have asked a lot of questions today but I'm so overwhelmed with all this credit stuff it's ridiculous. So I thank you guys for taking the time to help me ahead of time! Is it true that when you pay off a lot of your debt at one time your credit score drops? We have paid $650 off this month and I know the creditors will be udating their accounts soon. But I'm worried this will drop his score by a lot. We had a mortgage lender tell us we should pay off $150 in debt and opne up a credit card with a $300 limit to raise him up 10 points.

Are there any debt consolidation companies that will deal with payday loans that are in collections?

I was reading through some other threads and I still have a few questions on some of the charge off accounts. For example, My Fiance has two credit cards through the same company but one was opened in 1999 and the other in 2000. They are both listed as closed by the consumer but marked "charged off as bad debt". They both say the estimated removal date is 02/2008. And he opened these accounts in Michigan. The date they were both closed was 2001. So would the SOL be in 2008? And even after that, is it possible for the collector to try and collect this debt even after the SOL.

I have a question for relative of mine. She was checking her credit report and it showed a civil judgement reported in october 2005 but it showed an open date of aug 2001. It appears it was for an old sears account but she hasn't received anything from them. Does anyone know what will happen to this? Of course she doesn't have any of her old statements or her account number that she could call them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there! My Fiance and myself are trying to repair his credit because we are looking to buy our first home within the year, and well because the stuff needs to be taken care. We don't have all that much but we taking care of what we can. I do ahve some questions about all this and would appreciate any help you guys can give. Is there always a settlement offer when A collections agency has the debt? And what negotiating tips can you suggest? And I had a collector tell me that settlement offers aren't allowed on checks that were bad, is this true?

I am in a real pickle right now. I took some pay day loans out in the summer and they debited my checking account but I don't have the funds in there. So now my bank was closed and I received a letter from Malan Williams of SRA ASSOCIATES and she called me on the phone . Now she wanted me to make two payments but wasn't able to pay and I told her that. Then she called me back and I told her that I wasn't going to be able to pay. Then I got a call from her and said they were able to get me a payment of three installments of 490 dollars.

I went to the the BK court in november and its been over 60 days now and havent heard from the bk court orthe firm credit partnership. What should I do?
