Okay, this is the wells fargo account that I've been pulling my hair out over. I just wrote them certified return receipt. Its on my husbands Equifax report (he got today) as being 'charged off account;Chattel'. okay, forgive me if this is a dumb question but I haven't seen the word 'chattel' on our credit reports before, I don't think I've heard of it. what does it mean?? And they are reporting every month as charged off, the last time they reported was 9/05. eleven months straight every month as being charged off.

While collection agencies may be hounding consumer's to pay the full debt or offer a partial settlement, there have been cases where the consumer receives even less of a settlement when dealing with a mortgage company.

I have passed out from my college a couple of years back. It was a wonderful experience being in there and feeling the worth of living life on credit. Now, things are quite different with all the outstanding loans in my credit. Life has taken a reverse turn and I will have to pay back all of them. Things are not what I thought while being in the college. The job market hasn't been so good to me and the job that I envisioned during my college days is still a dream. It kills me when I realize that the debt is growing every single day.
