I have received a couple of calls from Jessica Hawthorne at Ellis Crosby and she stated that if I did not send in $235 by today then they were going to file felony charges. Now I know that in this state it has to be over $500 to be considered a felony. From what I have been reading, I should not send them any money and I should not worry about this. I should go straight to the company that I owe and work with them. I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing, I don't need charges against me or to be arrested. Thanks

• Current on existing Federal loans

They took funds out of my account without my permission I never clicked on their website for any kind of information and I never checked yes on any loan application that I wanted their service. I DID Not Authorze them to take funds out of my checking account.

How do I go about choosing the best agency for consolidating my debt? Also, I was turned down by one a while back. If I have an income of 25,000 a year, and am about 5,000 in debt (not including student loans) would there be someone to consolidate my debt and if so is it worth it with this small amount? thanks!

one of my creditors has sent my debt to a collection agency who will not accept a lowered payment. My other creditors will not remove the late payment history from my account as they say it is illegal to do so. I figure with 4 over 180 days late, it will be almost as bad as having a bankruptcy. Is this totally wrong? My other 3 creditors are working with me and will accept lower payments, but if the last one will do nothing, should I bother struggling to pay the other three?

Has anyone dealt with ameriloan? I just got a call from them that says I defaulted on a loan from March and they were reviewing the account at 5 pm today. I told them I thought it had been paid and he said it hadnt. I asked if I could call him back tomorrow after I have time to get home and check. He told me I could but I had to call back first thing and pay it off or they would fax the info over to my HR to have my wages garnished. He asked if I had ever been to court for nonpayment of a debt and if I currently was having my wages garnished for anything.
