I sent a VOD latter to 2 companies via regular post mail. It has been 45 days with no response; the company still has this reported, what do i do next? additionally another company sent me a letter saying since they had sent me 2 letters and it was more than 30 days old they do not have to validate the debt and i can not disbute it because it was not disbuted within 30 days of getting their first letter. Where do i go from here?

Does it affect my credit when I consolidate my credit cards?
