A family has returned back to Australia August 2004 after living abroad for 8 years. Have now exhausted our savings after being retrenched from an international company with little back pay. Re-adjusting to AUD, trying to work out how much things cost etc, I find that we are in a downward sprial. Still can't get work and yet the food, energy and house bills keep flowing, how can we turn it around getting our little Aussie family back on track?

I had an account with Newport News a few years ago. I was having financial problems and was unable to pay. When I was able to pay them; they had no information on my account. After several attempts to pay them I never received a call or a letter. In January of 2004 I received a letter from a lawyer stating they were going to sue me for 4100.00 I knpw that balance I had with Newport News was for less than 2000.00. I agreed to repay the lawyer I was scared of a lawsuit and did not know my rights.

Hi, I'm back! I have an account (actually two accounts) with MBNA that went into 'charge off'. I wrote MBNA over and over again explaining my situation and trying to get something worked out with them on these accounts. Nothing/Nada. They even sent me a letter telling me if they didn't hear from me by a certain time, they were going to do a charge off. HUH? I had been writing...and even wrote them back after receiving that letter. They say they'll help you, all you have to do is let them know. whatevers!! thats BS cause I tried to get them to work with me.

Do I not pay the credit cards for months while I'm paying your fee? And how does your program affect my credit?

I am thinking of signing with a company called HJ Harris and wondered if anyone knows anything about them? Thanks

I did not get a respond to my quwestion. My question is how do I find out how much I owe on my bradlees account. I have misplaced my stament and do not know my account number off hand.

Here's my situation. I was in the middle of changing jobs, but went through a auto accident and trying to get it fixed which has cramped my savings. I've now ended up out of work for the past 5 weeks and I'm stuck with being $800 over the $2000 limit on my credit card which I owe next week, a few months behind on college loan payments (around $700), late one month and maxed out on a store card ($600 limit).
