CIC Credit Report 800-2202626 CA

Keeps showing up on my paypal....they keep trying to take money...I never ordered a credit report other than from Experian via snail mail....

I searched for CIC Credit Report on the web and it doesn't look like they have very good repoire. It looks like a lot of people have the same complaints you do.

Thanks Michele! Most likely, I'll have to dispute any money CIC Credit Report takes...if they take anything. They've been trying, but there's nsf on my credit card, thank goodness. Another mock credit company trying to rip off people....

Check out this link on CIC credit report. They are a subsidiary of Experian. They may process all their charges as CIC.

Thanks a bunch, everyone!
I was kind of ticked because they took another $24 out of my account...I'm only letting it slide because I now have access to ALL of my credit reports (all 3)...but if any more money comes out, which it shouldnt, they'll be ANOTHER deadbeat company I have to deal with. Experian is most likely trying to make an extra several thousand dollars after they JUST got busted....:-/

I found 7 charges to my bank account for the total of approximately $80 from CIC Credit Report and I never contacted them. Will be reporting credit card fraud on CIC Credit Monitoring in the morning.

Hi shaneydan

Welcome to the debt consolidation Care forum. You can dispute with CIC Credit Report and request them to verify the account. As per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they are required to provide competent evidence bearing your signature, showing that you have some contractual obligation to pay.

If the agency cannot provide the necessary information, it will be considered a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In order to prevent legal action, they should report the credit reporting agencies to delete the incorrect entry.

After sending your letter through certified mail, they are required to respond within 30 days otherwise you can consider taking legal action against them on charges of

  • Defamation
  • Negligent Enablement of Identity Fraud
  • Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act

It is important to send the dispute form via certified mail. Not only to insure its delivery, but to have documented time of when it was sent. If documented proof that discredits your dispute isn't provided within 30 days, it MUST be removed by CIC Credit Report as per law.

Roxette

Hi guest,

Welcome to the forums.

Contact your bank and inform about CIC Credit Report. If necessary, you can close your checking account for this purpose. Also, you can file a police complaint on charges of unauthorized debits.

I hope it will be helpful.

Roxette

I'm glad I decided to check this website. CIC Credit Report company did the same thing to me. I signed up for a free credit report and now they are charging me $12.95 every month.

Wade

Welcome to the forums.

You should take active steps to stop CIC Credit Report from charging $12.95 every month. Send a dispute letter and get this thing corrected as early as possible.

Roxette

I had written to CIC Credit Report, explaining that I had reported their activity to the FTC and any further activity conducted by them will be immediately reported. Since then, they've ceased trying to take money from me.

I just got charged $12.00 by CIC* Credit Report... and I got that one FREE credit report from Esperian too. Maybe thats the link. But they said it was FREE one time deal. So I don't know... I'm making an inquiry through my bank and flaging those guys so they can't charge me again. Just wonder how I get my money back now that they have it.

If you've ever tried to get one of those free ipods or a free laptop computer offer, you'll be asked to sign up for 3 different programs and complete them. One of the programs is the credit monitoring. Another is for either free cds, free books/magazines..., another might be to apply for a credit card and get accepted.

You'll have to complete 3 of the programs and get accepted/approved and/or complete the program to get the free ipod or latop. Sometimes after all the pain of those emails, I would think it would be better to just go out and buy the item your trying to get.

People think they're only going to be billed the dollar for the free books. Perhaps they move, the books are going somewhere---and come the following year you could get charged the membership fee of $50/year.

Or in someones case, the $3.99 for the credit monitoring.

Hopefully people are viewing the small details in any offer. If a credit card is required (paypal account or checking) be on the look out for any monthly member fees or the renewal fee come 365 days later.

Regards-
Mike

I signed up with this on purpose.

You get a free credit check.

You also have to give them a credit card number. Which they don't charge. However in the fine stuff you are agreeing to a monthly subscription service which is required for the free credit check.

You can cancel at any time but try to find how to cancel, I couldn't so I had my bank send me a new credit card and that got rid of them.

Good luck.

Hi Thomas,

Welcome to the forums.

You can report CIC to the following agencies and stop the unauthorized debits from your checking account.

  • OTS (Office of Thrift Supervision),
  • FTC (Federal Trade Commission),
  • OCC (Office of Controller Currency),
  • The Attorney General's office
  • BBB (Better Business Bureau)

It will also be preferable to close your checking account and open a new one. This will protect your personal information from floating to the scam companies.

Roxette

I just called the 1800 number you have listed on your boards... they told me to call 866-673-0140, as they are only an affiliate company and have no control over the accounts for this certain company....(whatever) anyway this number may also help some of you. Good luck!

I to was charged $12.95 for serveces not renderd. I contacted my bank (USBANK)on the 29 of NOV. and I checked my statment online, and low and behold they let CIC. take out the $12.95. This is the 30th, so I guess I'll be contacting the bank tomorrow. believe me, the bank well refund my money, and not allow CIC. to remove from my account any... funds. Wish you all luck.

I posted yesterday on this sight my plite with CIC credit reporting. I contacted my bank this morning and had them cancel my card. as long as they do not have your account #, by cancelling the card they have know way of pulling funds from your account. I was given a # from the bank for CIC which is 877-481-6825, I'm assuming this is a 1-800#. I well call and inform them that I am taking action against them. They don'nt need to know what type of action. Usually that does it, they just move on to someone else. the bank is sending me the paperwork to fill out to get the ball rolling against CIC. If enough documintation is provided against this people they take action to put them out of bussiness. About the card, it takes about five bussiness days to get a new card.

same thing here. I thought I signed up for a free credit report and now I am having 12.00 taken out of my account. Just wondering what the website address was because now I cannot find it to get information to write to them or cancel.

My fiance was just charged 79.95. He is calling the CIC number now. I do not understsand how they can be authorized to do this. I wouldn't think this is legal. If they do not cancel the charges, I guess we will have to get a lawyer involved.
