They got me too. What a bunch of liars! I hope one of them has the guts to read this. Yeah they overdrew my account and now I have overdraft fees out the ying yang. Well guess what! They lied to me just like they did yall and I am not going to stand for it! I want my money back in my account immediately. They laffed and when I told them to stop any further transactions they never entered to cancel into computer. For some reason I had a strong feeling to call them a second time. SO I did and lo and behold they never canceled it. And I asked for a cancelation confirmation #. Guess what they said they couldnt do it and an email would be sent with my confirmation # on it. HAH! You know they lied to me again! Well guess what... I filed an online complaint with the better business bureau. And I contacted my Attorney general to put a stop to all this. HEY CIC HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE THE ONE SCREWED NOW? :P 8) :D

I visited this site for a free credit report after receiving an e-mail. They did not allow me to review the report after I went on the site. I did not give out any credit card information, nor did I agree to buy anything, yet, 4 days later, I noticed a $14.95 charge on my credit card. I called and they refused to give me my money back. The credit card company says they will credit my account in a few days. I must fill out a form & return in 7-10days.

I got hit with a $14.95 charge and am calling the company as I write this to have this unauthorized service cancelled. The representative is giving me the same script that everyone here has gotten and they are persistent that's for sure. My advice is to be as persistent as they are in your refusal to continue the membership.

call 877-4816825 to cancel this monthly billing. When a automated voice comes on the line and asks you to push a specific number to cancel the account. DO NOT push that number. If you do a message will come up that says this number is no longer in use. Push numbers that will get you to an operator. When I finally made cntact with a warm body, I was able to cancel the account, at least I hope. I would be curious if this company could prove the service they were providing for 14.95.

good luck to all!!!

The only triple advantage is this company, who takes advantage of people trying to better themselves and escape CREDIT CARD FRAUD, and the main ones being fradulant is this company CIC Triple Advantage. Whenever I call them (3 times today), they always want ALL of my information. But when I ask them for theirs, all they can give me is a first name and an ID#. They say this is a "security reason" for them not giving out their full names. How secure should I feel giving out all aof my info to a guy or girl with only a first name and probably a bogus ID#? How woould that stand in court???? "Hi your honor, a guy named Jamir stole my credit"....I'd be laughed at.

So I called my bank, had the company on 3 way so that they could hear what was going on, and everything I explained to the very nice banker, was exactly what the guy from Experian said. Verification. The banker was like, "I have never seen anything like this in my life", they are trying to scam you. So she called the Dispute department and I am now fighting for the money I never said they could take "FREE CREDIT REPORT" my azz. I was charged the first day I signed up for my free report. Advice, DON'T DO IT, STAY AWAY FROM "FREE CREDIT REPORT.COM."

Be sure to have all of your records (call times, people you spoke to, etc) you will need this for your report.

Signed,
Sir Lucious

I have been on the phone now between CreditReport.com and FreeCreditReport.com to get my account cancelled - for the 4th time! I continue to be charged from *CIC Creditreport. When I call either one of them, they both refer me to each other. I have no idea how to get this $14.95 monthly charge off my card. Neither of them show me as active, yet I continue to have this charge for no services. Any ideas?

I guess I'll have to contact my credit company and get it removed. Kind of funny that you try to protect your credit from these theives only to have them make it worse. Goodness what a crock of *h*t!

I got my so called "FREE" Credit Report about a week ago! I already have a charge of 14.95 on my debit card. You are suppose to cancel before 30 days, It hasn't even been 15!
I took the advice of "DEBRAIN123" and called my bank, they will not going to allow anymore charges come through from that account and they will be ordering me a new debit card, once the new one comes in the old one will be canceled! My bank is going to file a despute, and we will see how things turn out!
I would advise all of you not to give any more info to these people and if you have to get a new card!

Okay, so I just noticed I was getting billed $11.95/mo for the last 9 months by #CIC*Credit Monitoring. After having read several angry consumer threads I called the number associated with the charges on my bank statement (800-220-2626 CA). I was prepared to be put on hold for a long time and deal with a series of customer service idiots until I got what I wanted. Much to my surprise, the rep picked within a minute. She asked for my ss# which I denied her. Then she asked me for my CC# which denied her as well. I told her to look up my account based on my first and last name. I wasn't about to give these shady people more info than they needed. Just so you guys know, the women was able to locate my account based on my name, mother's maiden name and birth date. I tried to dispute the charges, but she kept reading her script telling me about the services that I paid for. Eventually i got sick of listening to her and flat out asked her to cancel my account. She did so after trying to sell me on another service. I stayed calm and told her to "stop right there and just cancel my account". We'll see if they actually cancel the "service". If they don't I'm going to dispute the charges with my bank and possibly cancel my credit card.

That's what happens when you log into Freeee Credit Report dot Com. Great catchy commercials(so glad that SOB has to drive a subcompact and live with his parents while working at a crappy restaruant) but Offer extends only to those who enroll in Triple Advantage. Too bad the government won't complete with the capitalist CRA's and start advertising www.annualcreditreport.com

I got billed by CIC* Tripple advantage 1-877-481-6826 for 14.95 and when I called that number to cancel they wanted my credit card number and when I told them no and to look up my name cause they would have my card number if they had my name to credit me the money they took out, but the dude hung up on me. What a rip off. I called my bank right away and am filling out a form to get my money back. I later saw that the phone number listed is one number off than the freecreditreport.com site wierd.

You have to fill out a report to get it to cover while you are out of work on medical. You must keep paying your creditcards until they get the claim through. After 4 attemps to get the proper paper work, I called them to just cancel the coverage. Okay, we understand, next month more fees, called to cancel again, after third time, I called sears and told them they were no longer to authorized to have these fees charged to my card. Sears told me they could not "unauthorize" charges. Only the company that started the charges could stop them. I stopped them. Paid the card of and closed the sears card. No more fees.

to everyone calling the FCR a scam...you do not know how to read. once you see the word FREE, you take everything else for granted! am sure you've tried other websites giving FREE trial period and asked you to enter your credit cards...for pre authorization charges which would drop off in a couple of days should u decide to cancel things. people calling this a scam are nothing but FREELOADERS! smart people call within trial period bec they do not want to be charged. they know how to read. don't be so ignorant, people. i love my membership with FCR.

How do stop them from taking money out of our accounts. Anyone know thier customer service number? I have even emailed them telling them I no longer need their services. But I'm not real sure if its the right place. On my account it says CIC CreditReport, no number, no address, no anything.

After they do stop charging you, will they refund you for what had already been charged? When I signed up for my free credit report, I was told it was FREE.

Your free report was provided on a conditional basis. You enrolled in a free trial of Triple Advantage which will start billing the credit card you provided once the free trial expired provided you did not cancel your memebership prior to the free trail expiring. Very clearly stated on their site and all TV and Radio advertisements.

They did the same to me. I signed up for a free report two years ago and they've been charging me $11.95/month ever since. When I call and ask to speak with a manager they inform me that their manager is not taking calls. I am filing a complaint with the state attorney general office and the better business bureau. They refuse to credit me back the $286 they have charged.

"system error" = they just didn't tell me and are trying to see how lon git took me to catch on...

I just got a bogus charge from the blue from these 800-388-8725 guys, along with some others and I think they are the ID thieves themselves--maybe a couple corrupt employees within a larger legitimate credit reporting agency, if what others have said about the Equifax connection is right. It could be the perfect phishing scheme: A bunch of charges of $25 or less, which merchants accept without a signature or ID, plus one listed "credit report" along with a phone number. The corrupt employee doesn't have to login and access your credit report to bill your card number. But you call them, because you see the charge and worry someone has just obtained everything they need to steal everything you own and who knows what else under your name. On the phone they phish you for all your ID--just as people in this thread have described. Now they can apply for a credit report as if they were you--maybe from some Internet cafe in Estonia. I wish the DOJ or FTC or even the Irvine police department (since the phone number goes with an Irvine address, according to a couple posters here) had some way to send in tips. I doubt Equifax or any credit card company would want the public to know that such a thing is going, so they might not be taking the most direct or effective way of stopping it.

I read this elsewhere:

----
This is fraud. They did not call me. They charged my credit card, and I have no idea how they got the credit card number: I did not order credit monitoring services on myself.

This number is used to hide: They never answer the phone. It always says they are experiencing high volume now, call back later.

They didn't call me; they just charged me out of the blue and then when I called them, tried to get me to disclose my full set of personal ID info. They refused to let me speak to a supervisor.

It's fraud and my credit card co (B of A) told me this is a "legitimate" business because the were able to google it.

I was NEVER told about the month charge, I did the free credit check to rent a place. I have very good credit score so i really have no need for the services. They need to make it clearer about the charge, THAT WHAT MAKE THEM SCAM.

I logged into AnnualCreditReport.com to receive my free yearly report. Less than 2 minutes later, I am charged. Called CIC and told them I was calling to dispute charge. Angent claims nothing was charge, but my bank account statement online said otherwise. I asked the agent to make notation of my calling in and that I am disputing this $7.95 charge. She did. She also said to call back within 24 hours to dispute charge. I then called my bank to dispute the charge, but was informed it cannot be disputed until it becomes a hard charge (when they actually take out money from my account). My bank suggested I cancel my VISA check card to stop CIC from charging me in the future, so I did. I then called CIC back and told them the charge account info they have on file is invalid. The agent I spoke with this time said that it appears I was charged, but the charge came back and didn't go through. She also said I would continue to be charged if I didn't cancel the subscription (what subscription?!). I told her to cancel and she said it appears that my account already has been. I asked if there was notation of my previous call and she said there was....at least the previous agent did as asked.
My advice would be to CANCEL your bank/charge card IMMEDIATELY to stop these charges otherwise they will keep taking YOUR hard-earned money!!

This company is a scam! I signed up for a free credit report and instantly received a $24.95 charge for some bull crap that I did not select. Of course like everyone else, they referred me to the Customer Relations Group. I fax them my bank statement and now almost a month later, I have not heard anything from this so called "CRG group" I got my card suspended and filed a dispute with my bank. I will also be giving them another good cuss out soon! Please do not sign up for this service! Nothing is free!
