I am having a problem with the IC Collectors associated with Paypal. After a lady pulled a fast one on me and did a chargeback on an item that I sold, I am wondering if there is any action that can be taken to ensure that my credit does not get affected. The only problem that I am having is that my dilemma entered IC systems in April of this year. I told them that I want to exercise my rights under the Fairness and Credit Report Act but the lady on the other line just kept on yelling at me that I would have to pay back the debt or else it would escalate to the next level. She also told me that I only had 30 days to exercise these rights. Then she told me that I would have to have payment on file by the 20th or else more problems would occur.

Is there anything that I can do or am I SOL?

In addition, I just received the first call from them yesterday. I was in Korea for a month and just got back a week ago and didn't get any voicemails from them either.

I just don't understand it. They told me that my information has been in the their system since April but they didn't contact me (or send me any letters) until now.

Sorry for constantly updating but I have no idea how to edit. I'm really worried that this is going to start affecting my credit. I also acknowledged that I knew about the Paypal dispute and about the charge against me (which pretty much makes me guilty) but since I did not receive the payment or merchandise from the buyer, am reluctant to pay them. I will honestly spend double the amount that I owe (388.10) to make sure that these crooks don't get a single penny.
