I got a call, 3 actually, stating that their was fraud attached to my ss # and that I needed to call back before 5.. so I called back yesterday as they were calling my work every hour or so.. He said that I had a loan thru EPP that wasn't paid and that for a $300 loan I owed $730.. He said that if I could come up with the money that day, they would take 75% off the total debt..and that if I didn't come up with an arrangment, that I would be served on Oct. 8th and that my court date was Oct 21st..the charges were bouncing a check across state lines and attempting to fraud a company.. I told him I couldn't do that and then he said what can I come up with and I said $50.. he put me back on hold and said that all they could do was 4 payments of $182 so that's what I did... I fely uneasy about it from the beginning but wasn't sure what to do.. Is this just a scam??
Thanks!

I did a search on them and haven't found ANY information about them yet. I would NEVER give out my personal information to ANY collector on the telephone without first receiving documentation and PROOF via the mail, first. If you have given this company your account information my advice to you would be to close your account asap, or place a block for any future transactions on this company. Have you ever taken out a loan with a payday lender? Did this company identify who the original creditor was? They should send you documentation with the following information:
- How much money you reportedly owe;
- The name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
- That unless you, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed valid by the debt collector;
- That if you dispute the debt in full or in part within that thirty day period, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt and mail it to the consumer; and
- That upon your written request within the thirty day period, the debt collector will provide you with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.

I called them but all I got was voicemail. I told them to cancel the payment for Monday and if it doens go thru, that I will be disputing it with my bank and that I will not work something out with them until I receive my debt validation letter...

Did you give them your credit card or debit card information? If you did, you might want to call your bank and place an ACH block on it, naming Eclipse Resolutions,LLC.
I have no idea what this companies ethics are and if they'll abide by your wishes, I hope they will.

I spoke to my bank about it and they can't do anything until the transaction posts, then I have to take it up with the dispute center.. I knew I shouldn't have set it up as I could find no info on them on the web, but I wasn't sure what to do..

I understand, I've been there too. Just take the necessary precautions now that you understand your rights. I would go to the FDCPA site and read up on the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act so you will know your rights!
Will do, thanks! I'll keep yah posted on what happens..
