In an attempt to get some money back in my hands I played online "skill based" games called worldwinner.com - to me it is gambling but they are fronting it as skill based gaming - things like solitare, Chuzzle, Bejeweled. You pay an entry fee and based on your score can win cash prizes. I had almost $1200 in entry fees last weekend. I closed my checking account on 9/14 and they managed to put through $380 in charges through my savings account with the credit union. Reading through some forums on here I am seeing where people have disputed charges and gotten their money back - any advice on this??

Wow you're kidding me!! I've heard of that site but it's been years since I have. It wouldn't hurt to try and dispute it, if they took money out of your account unauthorized then by all means dispute it.
