Capital One and NCO

13 years 10 months ago
I have an old account ( from about 2005 or 2006) with capital one that is a $800 debt. I found an old letter (settlement letter) from NCO with a very good offer-- which is more thna likely not available anymore. i want to contact NCO but before I do, i want to know if i take a settlement from NCO will capital one still try to come after me for the rest or the entire sum? Ive read a few stories on capital one and I see that they are the hardest ones to deal with when it comes to settling. has anyone ever dealt with this? or any advice? Thanx in advance

Question regarding SOL in FL on time barred debt

13 years 10 months ago
I have a old credit card that should have ran out on SOL in january. I was just served papers though to appear in court for it. They evidentally filed a case on this is 2009 but were unable to locate me to serve me the summons. Does SOL still apply or does the fact that they commenced (filed) the case in 2009 just blow SOL as a defense out of the water?

ACH Revoke for Licensed Lenders

13 years 10 months ago
Since I don't think my bank account will be closed in time and the bank said they'd give me back my money if these companies tried to debit even after I sent them a letter of revocation then I need to know what to write in that letter, can one even be sent or because these companies are licensed do I have to wait for them to debit?

Western Sky/Cash Call in Nevada

13 years 10 months ago
I've seen some posts about Western Sky/Cash Call, but I just want some responses for my situation. Cash Call is the same as other payday lenders right? I originally applied for Western Sky, and I have seen other stories go, they sold the loan to Cash Call. When you go to the Cash Call webpage, you can't even apply for a Cash Call loan if you live in Nevada. So I know that Western Sky is illegal, I called my AG's office and they said the problem with Tribal lenders is that the government can't touch them. So I tried to reason with Cash Call, and that was a no go.

Aoto loans with same creditors(Veridian/Cap1) as credit cards being settled??

13 years 10 months ago
Hello all. I attempted to start this thread a couple days ago and it never appeared on the board. Been talking with Jason Holmes and I believe my thread may have been lost so I am attempting again. I'll give a little background to start. My wife and I have around $35,000 in credit card debt on 8-10 cards. We also have 2 vehicle loans with creditors that we have credit cards with. All payments on vehicles and credit cards ARE current and have never been late. That all said...we have been making min. payments for about a year now and getting nowhere.

Settle GM Card (HSBC) offers?

Looking for information from others that may have settled an account with these folks. I've offered a lowball figure a couple times now but they just laugh at me. Wondering what % others have been able to settle for.

settled with BOA today

13 years 10 months ago
Just got done settling two cards with BOA. Balances were $21,050 and $4,400. They were at 35%. I had offered 20% last month when they were at 40% or 45% (I can't remember for sure). I would have offered 25% this month if I had more time but since I was already right at 150 days, I really didn't want to cut it much closer. So I just went ahead and offered 30%. They came back at 32%. I agreed but when they came up with the payments, it actually turned out to be 30.71%.

New here, need some help

13 years 10 months ago
Hi, I recently got into some financial troubles and ended up taking out a couple of PDLs, which I'm now finding was not very smart at all. I live in Georgia, and I'm at my wits end with what, if anything, I can do. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Brad

Odd Phone Call

13 years 10 months ago
I got a call from 111-111-1111. The guy said he works for a network of attorneys and mentioned something like ESB. he asked to verify my social and I refused. He said that was fine and hte will mark it an outright refusal. Then he said if I had a pen and would need to take down a date to appear in court. I asked 'Where am I appearing?' and the call ended. Do I have anything to worry about? Could this be a trick to get a default judgment for something?

No one seems to want to negotiate settlement....

13 years 10 months ago
Three accounts coming close to charge off and the following won't budge at all: Citi - 45% - March 22nd CO Chase - 50% - March 29th CO Capital One - 50% - March 29th I will have the funds mid march to settle all of them at about 30% each, but none of them will budge from the above. Citi has said the term pre-litiagtion so many times my head hurts. Chase and Capital One are extremely nice about it, but won't do anything. I have countered at just below 30% for each, but no dice. Any words of wisdom or does it seem that the banks have changed their stance?
