Hello, I recently received a summons from Midland Funding, and am about to declare Bankruptcy. I have a week left to respond. The last time I made a payment on the account was about 2 years ago (I am in California). I know I need to respond, but I'm not sure how. 1.)If I deny that I owe them a debt, and I lose in court because they have the paperwork to prove it, will I have to pay their court fees? Also, I'm not sure how this is going to time out with me filing for Bankruptcy. I have absolutely no way to pay for an attorney, so I am filing myself.

Ok I am reaching out to the experts out there and to anyone who has dealt with SandPoint Capital/ClearWater Bay Marketing/CWB Services. I need some information on this company. Anything, anyone??? I have had my share of battles with PDL's and have had my share of success stories and refunds. But now I am trying to help a dear friend who has found herself in this mess and I know and understand the laws I just have a hard time finding information and any success with this company. The loan was obtained in NJ, which I know PDL's are illegal which makes the loan illegal.

I have been dodging student loans awhile, and long-term unemployed due to medical problems. I also have had my tax returns levied for student loans. I am preparing to re-enter the workforce, and will be filing for bankruptcy as well as going through a divorce. I realize student loans are not eligible for discharge. My question is in which order do I put my plan in motion to give me the best benefit? Ideally, I would prefer to have my ducks in a row so that the first impression with my new employer isn't a call to personnel from the CA regarding a wage garnishment.

I need help. I got a letter from Hunt & Henriquez threatening to sue me if I don't pay them the $20,000 they claim I owe on my Sears credit card.What if I'm unemployed with no money in the bank or any assets or whatnot for them to take even if they do take me to court? There really is not much for me to do because that's the situation I'm in at the moment. I can't even afford bankruptcy. and i've read a few posts here about "judgments" being made.. what does a "judgement" mean or entail?

I feel that I have learned from my past mistakes on amassing this much debt and don't plan to make the same mistakes again. The last payment on all of my cards were made in October of 2011.

Hi everyone, So, I've read a lot about CBCS since seeing them on my credit report last month. I must admit, I was reluctant to even contact them, afraid of the harassment that would ensue if I opened up communication with them. This week I sent them a request for a Letter of Validation. I'm almost positive they will be able to produce the correct documents, in which case I'd like to promptly get the debt paid. What sort of documentation do I need when making the payment to make sure they can't come after me in the future for the same debt?

Hello everyone, I just received an e-mail and spoke with somebody from FTC. I have given Ameriloan a chance to resolve my complaint and they ignored. We will see what will happen next. I just think that these PDL companies regardless if the owner is an Indian Tribe shoud be regulated by the government and states. We are getting PDL to get a temporary relief in emergency cases but ended up trapped in PDL hole. If we have plenty of money, we would not get PDL's anyway...
