what does this mean?

I received this the other day.. What should I do about it? Should I worry? This is in reference to your Account number 2021-52 with ACS in order to notify you that after making several calls to you on your phone number, we were not able to get hold of you. So the IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center) has decided to mark this case as a flat refusal and press charges against you. Your account with ACS is in Final Collections.

What to do now...

Well, I still have 5 online pdl out that just found out last friday cant pull anymore money from my account. I have been getting calls at work and they are getting annoyed.. I really need them to stop calling my work.. What is the best way to get them to stop calling my work? If they call me, or I call them to try and settle with them, should it be for the principal ammount only? I know all my PDL are illegal in my State.. What if they don't agree to that? Is it safe to talk to the collection companies...? What should I tell them? Should I try and set up a payment arrangement?

State AG's Office

I know that one of the main piecies of advice given on this board is for people to file complaints with their state attorney general's office against illegal payday lenders; so I just wanted to share that after doing this, I was contacted by my state AG's office who informed me that they are investigating 3 of the companies that I had loans with and have active litigation with 2 of the companies. The reason that I wanted to share this becuase some people might think that it's a waste of time to file a complaint with the AG but I am here to tell you that it is definitely worth your time, spec

Sonar Holdings - HELP threatended with being served

Happy New Year I have a pay day loan with Sonar Holdings and in November I sent them a letter saying pay day loans are illegal in MA and also asked for an address so I can pay the principle that I borrowed. That was in November, I heard nothing! Yesterday (1/10/12) I received a call from a Regina Ward at 855-278-7085 (Atlas) saying they had a claim in their office and I would be served with court papers for check fraud.

Verizon Collection: Can Anyone Help?

Hello, Everyone: Does anyone have any advice, or contact information, about how to deal with Verizon? Does anyone k now how to contact their legal department? This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Last year I stopped using their landline service at home, then came back to them six months later. When I re-signed up, they botched the billing totally, and I told them I would not pay the old invoice/account until they fixed the billing. It took them SIX MONTHS to get the bill right; in the meantime, the old account went into collection for around $200.00.

Should I pay taxes or credit card debt?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums and need some advice. So I prepared my tax returns for this year (I haven't sent them to the IRS yet) and I owe $3000 dollars this year. I currently have $3000 dollars in credit card debt. All the accounts are closed and not gaining interest, but are still hurting my credit because I am not making payments towards them. I have $3000 dollars right now to pay off either the taxes or debt. I was thinking about paying the debt off now to help my credit and to get the creditors off my back.

Settlement Newbie Question

We were convinced we were going to file bankruptcy before we studied and decided that debt settlement might be a better option for us. We have access to about $13,000 in cash currently (owe $43,000 total). Anyway, my question is: we used one of our cards (we have 10 total!) for monthly bills as we had been doing for a long time until January 1st we stopped using everything cold turkey. We are totally current on everything. I read somewhere that a card may not settle with you if you have used the card recently. Should we keep paying for awhile longer? If so how much longer?? 90 days?

False Plaintiff in debt collections?

I had financial troubles due to being unemployed a long period, before I moved to Texas. My debts and defaults on the debts occured in another state, than where I reside now. It's in a Justice of the Peace Court. Now a third party bill collector is suing me; even though I havent been served yet.
