Chase just called, I settled 2 accounts with them. Both closed accounts with a $5600 bal on each for 30% on each over 4 payments in 93 days. These accounts were only 119 and 109 days from "last payment" or 89 and 79 days late. I offered them 20% last week and they countered with 55%. When they called today, they mentioned the offer from last week, I tried my hardest for 25%, but was only able to get to 30% with them. The light is getting a "little" brighter at the end of the tunnel.:) My Cap 1 is SLOWLY softening up.

Thank you for everyones help in the past. In 2006 I was sued and a debt collector who obtained a default judgement. (I didn't know the law then). I finished paying off the debt because I was watching my credit report tick down to zero. In fact all 3 credit reporting agencies at least show a $0 balance. I made my final payment last September 2010 and sent a letter of satisfaction to the collection agency informing them of the final payment and acking to correct any errors I may have made.

So, I am getting calls from this company now! Mike Reynolds left me a message on my voicemail today that he would be in my area in the next couple of days and I would need to give him two forms of ID. He also stated that he may serve me at my home or work and if it is at my work that a Supervisor would have to sign as a witness! I used to work in collections and although that was a long time ago, I KNOW for a fact that the message he left me was in violation of FDCPA.

I was looking through the forum and am still really confused as to what I should be doing. I am enrolled in a debt consolidation company and am not too sure what I should do at this time. I am 4 months in and am scared. Can I trust them? Do I back out and go a different route?

I have an old debt from over 9 years ago but this could possibly involve an account from 15 years ago. Backstory: Midland purchased 2 accounts and then tripled the amount owed. They listed multiple accounts with the collection agencies which I fought and they were eventually removed. Placed again...removed again. They finally never reappeared 4 years ago. Flash forward to seven years ago: It started out with Midland calling once a day for three years.

I saw another post about this however everytime I tried to add on I got an error message so I'm starting my own. My apologies.... I too am getting calls from this company. In the other person's post he was advised it was a scam which I was led to believe as well. A process server called my husband friday to let him know about a lawsuit against him and told him to call Nationwide Law Firm to settle this matter. He called again today to let him know that he has verified an address to go and server him papers because he already gave him a chance to settle the matter and he didn't. He then stated that my husband has until then to call again since he has not received verification from this law firm to serve him the papers just yet. I find it very strange that he keeps calling from different numbers with different area codes. Please help, is this right?

I live in IL - took out $800 loan, have paid back $1150. They are illegal in IL so I sent them the revoke ACH email, closed my bank account and demanded a refund. They never responded, I am now getting calls from: (866) 722-2770 five times a day. Does anyone know this number? I've yet to answer and they don't leave a message. Is it integritypaydayloans.com, or did they send me to a 3rd party collection agency? How should I proceed? My email to integrity clearly stated to cantact me via email or regular mail only.

I recently checked the court calendar and found my name and a date for court. However, I am unsure what a Peremptory Calendar is. Please help. Also, could you please let me know if they do recieve judgement can I file bankruptcy after the fact? Thank You
