Specsavers left me a message on my home phone about going to an appointment I never made. . . said I got one tomz at 10:10. They said my full name. So what shall I do? What would be the most appropriate response when I call them back. Someone could be impersonating me.

From Minnesota - PDLs are from early 2009. They called my house and my 12 year old daughter answered. They immediately started yelling at her. They stated that they are filing a lawsuite 1MA1867 and that a Ramsey County Police Officer is coming tomorrow at 3:00 to service papers. But I can resolve it by calling 1-888-208-1878 and make an arrangement. First off there is no such thing as Ramsey County police. There is a Ramsey County Sheriff.

Just wanted to give a little hope to anyone who is dealing with Nationwide Cash. I had big problems with them wanting to refund and close out my account. They refused saying I owed x-amount of money still even though I had WAY overpaid my loan. I ended up doing complete silence on my end from them, and filed a complaint against any and every organization I could. The BBB, FTC, State Bank Commissioner, Attorney General, etc. After some back and forth with those places, I heard complete silence from everyone.

Hi, I'm sorry I am being so annoying. I'm just trying to figure out my options. I contacted Check n Go about not being able to keep up with my payment arrangements. They actually were really good about working with me. They extended my due date for my payment for 2 weeks from now, and lowered it. They just said they "need the balance paid by the end of December." My balance is around $800. Now for Cashnet, I keep getting told 800 different things. No joke. They don't make sense. I will attach my conversation below (I chat online so that I have proof of the conversation).

I have been turned into collections over a $500 medical bill, because of my deductable needed to be met for my insurance to kick in. I dont have the money. I have been sick for some time and avoided going in because of this but could not do it any longer. My monthly meds are costing $300 a month. Does anyone have any advise on how to handle this during this time? The collections company is Credit bureau Associates. I live in California. I dont have any money and to top it off this is happening during Xmas. I am almost 1 month behind on my car payment and 1 month behind on my house.

I am a stay at home mom, and am currently taking online college courses for my b.s. degree. I am married with two children. My husband has a full time job but has been unable to find a part time job on the side. I have also been unable to secure a part time job. We were current on our cc's until my husband's job took a turn for the worse several years ago. At first he was only demoted due to the instability of his employer which made it impossible for us to make the minimum payments on our cc's, and then he was eventually let go due to their being no available work.

The collection agency URS had my debt, I sent a debt validation letter, they sent back some statements, but i was told i should see if they could provide my proof in validating the debt , so i sent another request and now its with a law firm Peroutka ? Any suggestions on why they would resell my debt if it was valid? And now i think it may be worse if its really with attorneys..... Any suggetions or Help would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Colorado and am being sued for a debt from 2008 for an Orchard Bank card I owed $300 on (now almost $700.00). I was laid off from work in 2008 and have only worked 1/3 of the time since. I own no property, am unemployed, do not receive unemployment benefits, and have about $10 in the bank. The attorney for the plaintiff, who bought the debt from Orchard are suing me. I sent the attorney a settlement offer letter stating I would pay them $300 early in 2012 but have never heard back from their attorney. I am due in court November 18th.

Hi all! I've got an... odd situation. It's a long story, so I'll try to get to the good stuff. :) I have an account with Best Buy/HSBC, balance of $1,100, that I haven't made a payment on in almost a year (same amount of time i've been unemployed) About 3 months ago, I spoke with an acct. rep at Gurstel Chargo, who is collecting for HSBC, and made a settlement offer of $500. I never heard back. Fast forward to yesterday. I received a call from a different rep who mentioned a judgement (in passing) & asked about a settlement. I again offered $500.
