Today I received four calls in a row at work from 000-000-0000. As I received those calls, a friend texted me to tell me that someone called him from this same number and said they were a process server looking for me with a summons and that if I did not respond to it, they were going to issue a warrant, which I know they can't do. Then, later in the day a family member texted me and said she had received a message on her home machine for me with the same information as above and that papers were being filed at the county clerk's office.

I received a letter from Berman & Rabin approximately two months ago about a past due bill I have. I cannot afford to pay the entire amount. The bill is old and what once started out as approximately a $900 bill is now up to $3,000 with late fees and interest. I contacted an attorney who sent them an offer letter. It was a very low offer but all I could afford. Almost two months have passed and the attorney has not heard back from them. Why would they not respond? I am not sure what to do next.

So, I had the phone conference today for the already-paid bill I've been fighting over. They dismissed the case, BUT still want me to cough up proof that I paid the bill. I guess it's better than nothing. In addition to paperwork-hunting, I guess it's now time to prepare my countersuit. Any suggestions?

Hi, I'm not the one that owes First National Collection Bureau money but yet for the past 2 years they have been calling my house asking for a man by the name of Patrick. And for 2 years i have told them many many times that there is no person by that name that lives in my house nor do i know anyone with the name patrick and i being really nice about too.

In Feb 2010, I received a dunning letter from Credit Professional Services on an alleged debt with Solomon Finance. I sent them the debt validation CMRR. I received no response so I sent it a second time. Still no response and didn't hear from them again. I checked my free annual credit report and imagine my surprise when Solomon shows up on there under a listing for Maurader (with the same address as CPS), dated Jan 2010, a month before they sent their initial dunning letter. I disputed it with Experian and it came back validated. I requested the name, etc of the person who validated it.

Good Morning, I am in the process of working my way thru payday loan misery, and this morning received a call from a Mark Oliver. He did not tell me where he was calling from, said something about signing for a certified something or other, regarding upcoming lititgation, blah blah blah. However, I can save myself if I call this mediation firm and talk to them, still hasn't told me anything about where he is calling from or who is calling for. This was all left on my voice mail. The number he gave me to call is 877-690-4915.

Me again... I received a call from Total Recovery Solutions saying they have my VIP Loan Shop loan. I orginally had a $400 loan and I paid back $360. I offered to pay VIP Loan Shop the remaining $40 (I live in NY) and they wouldn't take it and sent it to TRS. TRS said they were recording the conversation, it was an Internet loan, my state laws don't mean anything... blah, blah, blah. The woman ended with "Good luck." Has anyone ever dealt with TRS? Thanks!

I have 7 payday loans and was paying approximately 1800 in fees monthly. I was to the point of not being able to pay my house and car payments. Thankfully I found your website. I closed my accounts, filed complaints with the NC SAG office and the FTC (I live in North Carolina). I submitted the letter as suggested via fax and email and informed all lenders to Cease and Desist from contacting me another other method except email or USPS.
