I live in nj and had three payday loans over the internet. i paid the finance charge of $90.00 becuase I borrowed 300.00. I changed banks becuase they were taking out more money then they claimed and now they are calling and harassing me over the rest. I told them to give mw thwir address and I will mail them a check but they will not stop calling. I just found out payday loans are illegal in NJ. Where do i go from here??

New here and want to get started!

14 years 4 months ago
Hi everyone! I have been reading over this website because my husband and I are ready to take action on our debts. We are current on ALL of our debts and are struggling now to pay our mortgage. I would rather stop paying cc's then lose my home. After much consideration we are ready to stop paying our credit cards in hopes to settle in a couple of months. Is it normal to get the wave of nausea and jitters when just the thought of defaulting and receiving endless phone calls enters my mind? My husband's job is no longer offering enough hours and this has resulted in less income.

payday loan

14 years 4 months ago
I had a payday loan in 2006 in Va for $200.00. I paid on this for about 7 months til I moved to NC, I had every intention of paying the payday people until I started seeing the bill was doubling now tripling. They are now calling me for about $800+. It is in the hands of a third party billing company number beginning with 404 and they are claiming they are investigators and that I may have committed fraud. I had talked to them and even tried to work with them on the bill for $800 on the phone til they told me what I was going to pay and when.

Student Loan

14 years 4 months ago
My son got a student loan when he went to college. When he graduated, he could only find a part time job. This is no way he can make the kind of monthly payments he is being asked to pay. Is there ANY HOPE in this situation? What did he get himself involved in with this kind of loan? I can't see how he will EVER be able to pay it off.

Credit Protection Depot

I was reading posts on the forum regarding this company. I found a sample letter that could be used to get validation information and to cease and desist. It was an awesome letter, however my computer froze up before I could print it. Do you have a sample letter that could be use for this purpose. Thank you, Michelle

Law office of Joe Pezzuto

14 years 4 months ago
I've had a debt for quite awhile now and it was recently sent to the law office of Joe Pezzuto. I was just summoned to court for this debt and now I don't know what my next step should be. Should I just show up to court and ask to make payments or should I fight this?

Payday Loan Help in Nevada

14 years 4 months ago
Hi everyone! I need some advice on how to get out of my payday loan mess. Now before I continue, yes I know I shouldn't borrow more than I could pay back. I have no intention of trying to skip out on my loans, I just need some help. I'm not certain of the Nevada payday loan laws, so any help would be great. Should I close and open a new checking account? I don't really want to use a debt settlement company, because I know that they charge a lot, and from all I have researched, I can settle on my own.

Chase settlement offer on first call

14 years 4 months ago
I just got my first call from Chase on two cards totaling about 19.5K. Explained the situation that I couldn't pay, etc, etc. She said they noticed I've been long time customer with history of on time payments and they'd be willing to accept settlement and that I should think it over and come back with offer in next week. It's been about 2 weeks since I stopped paying. Is it normal to offer a settlement so quickly? I can only muster around 15-20 percent realistically in the next month or two so that will be my starting point I guess.

Rovo & associates

I didn't receive a call but I got a letter by mail. The wierd thing is that the name that they use is only my false name that I don't use on any of my important issues. I don't know what to do. I haven't called them to ask what the debt is about or anything, I have not written any checks or anything or took out any loans, I have just turned 18, where can these debts come from? Someone help me, should I call them? Should I pay them? What should I do?
