NCO and AMEX

14 years 5 months ago
Hi, For about 2 years now I have been dealing with NCO Financial and my Amex account that has a judgement from 2008. I had ramped up my payments to about $200/mo which I can barely afford but did so anyway as I was my balance was in the last $1000 so I wanted to get it cleared before the end of 2011. I would always pay online and check my balance accordingly. When I thought i was making my final payment I decided to pay "in full" (what was reflected on my internet balance) and then found out that i still had about ANOTHER $1200 to go due to interest not reflected in my total balance!

Help with Illinois Wage Assignment

14 years 5 months ago
Genesis Financial sent a wage assignment to my employer which I have revoked. My employer will not withdrawal the wage assignment until they get something from the creditor or the courts. What do I do? My employer is holding all the withdrawals until they get a wage deduction from the courts. I am filing bankruptcy and will retain my attorney on Tuesday. I just do not know what do. The wage assignment was signed by fax as I live probably 8 hours away from the creditor. If it is signed by fax does that make it a legal signature?

There's a way out

14 years 5 months ago
Hi just want to tell everybody in this forum, that there's a way out of the payday loan mess. I followed all the steps provided in this forum and Some accounts were closed and clear (because they know they are making business illegally) and some of them settled for a monthly payment and only for the principal amount. DO NOT let anybody scared you, they are just trying to fool you and take advantage of your situation.

Sued for a Credit card from 6 yrs ago!!!

14 years 5 months ago
I just recieved court papers for a credit card i dont remember and it was from 2005. First question, how far back can they go to collect? Of course this is a credit card I dont even recall having, the balance owned is just over $600 so it is minimal. Is there a way they may settle on this or since its at this point, they will want all the money??!! When i make payments or pay it off, will this still be on my credit report as a judgement or do i still have time?? thanks:confused:

creditors financial group & equable ascent financial

14 years 5 months ago
i got a letter from creditors financial group llc around july 22.. it states an account number, total due, and that the current creditor is equable ascent financial all at the top of the letter. then at the bottom of the letter it states original creditor is equable as well.. first off, i have never done business with this EAF company... i know for a fact that EAF purchased this account from one of my cc creditors, therefore, they are NOT the original creditor as stated at the bottom of the letter..

What's my next step?

Hi! I live in Vermont and have fallen into the payday loan trap. I have/had several loans over the last year or so, and kept trying to dig my way out while falling more and more behind. I found this site and used the sample letter with my loans with mixed success. 2 of my loans were closed and marked paid in full, so thank you for the win with them! The other two are not as easy. The first is Spot on Loans. I have had multiple loans with them since last year, all of them except the current one paid in full (with roll over and interest charges paid, of course).

Wells Fargo CC- what to expect?

14 years 5 months ago
I couldn't find many current posts about Wells Fargo. I have $4000 card last paid 4/8. In June they offered 50%, since then I've told them 20% they've countered "we don't settle that low." Haven't put another number on the table. Wondering what other people's recent experiences have been with WF regarding percentage settlement, when they write off, send to CA or attorney.

Served with 'legalish' Papers

14 years 5 months ago
I was served tonight at my home in WA State by a process server/woman in sweats. Representing a firm called Suttell & Hammer P.S. The papers reference a Capital One debt incurred by husband to the tune of $8700 and ask for a response within 20 days not including the date of service or a default judgement will be entered. We may demand that the plaintiff file the papers with court.

What to do next?

Hello, My wife and I live in California and here is our story... On June 1, 2011 my wife received a collection letter from a company called NCO Financial System, Inc. After helping her search the internet for a solution. She responded with certified debt validation letter which sent out on June 16th. It was received by NCO on June 20th. She waited 30 business days (June 20th to July 29th). Nothing arrived in the mail. Since the 30 business days had passed she thought that she was in the clear.

Help

I really need some advice. I received a call today at work, secretary took the message, the guy said he was a process server and gave me his agent number. Said he was delivering paperwork tomorrow at my job from a company that has hired him to serve papers on me and gave the secretary a notice number for reference. He wouldn't tell her who he was with or give her his number for me to call. He said he couldn't tell me anything about the company and could only give me that notice number and another phone number that I can call.
