Like many of you, I am drowning in payday loan debt. I filed Chpt 13 Bankruptcy about 3 yrs ago mainly because of the same thing. Unforseen issues have caused me to get back into the payday loan trap. I live in Alabama and between my husband and myself we have 7 pd loans totaling about $3000. . All of our loans are through internet based companies. The list of companies is below along with the amount borrowed. Integrity Advance - $500 Titan Group - $300 - been paying finance charges of $90 every pay period since Dec.

So I received a call from Harris and Associates today stating that they have a file in their office from a payday lender that I took a loan from back in 2010. The payday company is the Summit Group. The amount borrowed was $300 and fee of $90. Following the loan, I contracted with Meridian Credit Solutions to consolidate the payday loans I had. In June of 2010, Meridian sent me an e-mail stating they settled the loan with Summit. However, dumb me, I didn't get a letter from Summit to confirm that. Now, Meridian is out of business, so it looks like I was scammed from them.

Yesterday, I negotiated with a collections agency and got them to agree to delete two negative tradelines. They emailed me a copy of the delete request which they were sending to the bureaus. My question is two-fold: 1) How long should it take for my reports to reflect these deletions? and 2) How long should it take for my scores to change in a positive way? Thanks!

Last night I received the same message from this coy (Brown Meyer & Assoc). I called back & the guy who talked to me sounds like an investigator. He begins with accusation that I have been writing bad checks from state to state, & that he has made a background check on me. Then I told him if that was the case, then why I was so bold to call him back, & that he doesn't even know me. He continues with bouncing check I wrote for a payday company in another state & asked me why I did that. You did lost yr job? tell me how it happens? I was embarrassed. He messed up my day.

I have had a loan with Citi Bank on a promo offer for about 3 years that had a permanent interest rate of 5.99 %. Last month they ended the promo even though it was for the life of the loan and I had not been late on any payment.. The amount is about 4000 dollars. Is there any thing I can do about it?

Hi there, My Express credit card was included in a bankruptcy that was discharged in 2001. Much to my dismay, last week I discovered 3 different reports from the credit reporting agencies: In the first credit report, Express/WFNNB reported my payments 180 days late until May 2009. The account then shows as "closed by creditor's request" in June and appears as closed until now. On the second report, the Express/WFNNB card appears as a negative item with a small note on the bottom (that is apparently not visible on inquiries) to say the debt was included in a 2001 bankruptcy.

Is there a limit to the amount someone pays back on a payday loan in SC? For example, if someone renews a loan for more than a year, is there a a law that makes them drop the repay fee after a certain amount of time?

I am in the state of New Jesey and just got a call from Vince Enterprises. They are saying that because I borrowed $500, that I will be hearing from the Attorney General's office and that they are going to attach a levy/lein on my bank account. Can this happen?

I was driving a rental car and totalled the rental. I was not the one who rented the car nor did i sign any contracts as a driver for this rental car and the person who rented the car did not have accidental insurance on the car. Should this be on my credit report even though I didn't sign any paperwork for this rental car?
