hello i just got a call from an investigator saying i have to pay a loan from 2005 he said they would put out an warrant to have me arrested if they dont get paid i live in new york or take me to court .
In 2010 I had aquired a payday loan in Pima County, Arizona. I had to default on repaying the loan due to surgery and my inability to work. I contacted them prior and after, explaining I needed to set up a repayment plan after I returned to work 8-12 weeks later. The payday loan 'officer' refused to discuss a repayment plan that far in advance and said I would be contacted by their main office.
I never received anything from them until now (June 2011) in the form of a Civil Case.
I have posted a couple of questions and tried to post a thread, but it has not shown up so I'll try again.
I have the following loans: Star Cash Processing paying fee of $105 on $350 loan
Ameriloan paying $102 on a $350 loan
One Click Cash $75 on a $250 loan
My PayDayAnyDay $110 on a $300 loan
500 Fast Cash paying $60 on a $200 loan
I live in Arkansas and found that no license is required however there is a usuery law which says if lender is charging over 17% they are considered illegal loans.
I am trying to settle some cc debts that are still around 60 days from chargeoff.
I keep seeing that you need good negotiating skills, any tips on what not to do or say as well as any tips that would help?
For example, amex, later this month I will be at 120 days since my last payment, offered them approx 28%, they only say can you come up with more money, they are at 85%.
Thanks
