We signed a contract with a "Buy Here, Pay Here" car lot for my husband's SUV. Shortly thereafter, our account was sold to a finance company. We never signed any papers with this new finance company. We were two payments late, and the finance company reposessed the truck, without ANY notice given to us that they were going to do so. We live in the state of Virginia. Is this legal for them to do, since we didn't sign with them and they didn't give us any notice whatsoever?

If a company has withdrawn its business from the US and they have a judgement against me can they still collect debt from me?

My son is 51 years old; in 2005 he stayed with me 3 mos following a divorce and while searching for work after relocating to the state where I live following my retirement; apparently because he stayed with me this short period his name is included on my credit report in some fashion and they are trying to get payment from me for an old credit card debt that was written off 2 or 3 years ago. I asked them not to call me. I'm not in contact with my son, I have nothing to do with his debts and I cannot pay them anything.

I will keep it brief. I need some advice. I have 4 pdl's that are about to default. 3 are Internet lenders the fourth is a store front loan with the cash store. The internet loans ach'ed my account on fri and have been returned. They are: Check n go: 1500.00 borrowed Cashjar: 1000.00 borrowed Qloot: 800.00 borrowed Cash store: 2000.00 borrowed I am supposed to go in to the cash store tomorrow to make my payment but I do not have the money. I need to figure out how to stop the calls that are going to start and see if I can make some arrangement to stretch out the payments.

i recieved a summons around memorial day las month. i have yet to respond. honestly i do not know how to respond to a summons. it is now june 13th do i still have time? how do i write a response? i am due in court the 28th of june :confused:

Just received first letter (120 days past due) on 30k AmExp account...should I try to negotiate with them now? Will AmExp or Allied send a settlement letter in another 2-3 months??

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with a dilemma. Back in 2009, I took out a payday loan with CashNetUSA. Soon afterwards, I lost my job and had financial difficulties for a long time. I am just now trying to pay off my debts and get my financial house in order. Long story short, my parents (who are elderly) received a phone call on Friday 7/10/11 at 1 pm from someone called "Ms. Matthews" calling about this loan. She claimed that they were going to serve me with notice to appear in court on 7/14 (Tuesday) unless I contacted them.

So I sent Eastside Lenders the $20.00 balance and it felt good. I am being harassed more and more by Ameriloan and United cash loans and I really don't know what to do it is becoming annoying. The last email they threatened me and said my time was up. When will they leave me alone? Since I sent that dispute to the Collection agency for Everest Cash advance I have not heard anything back from them. I have Ameriloan and United Cash Loans on auto reject on my cell phone I have filed more comlaints against them when will someone get involved if ever?

I filed Chapter 7 and received my discharge papers already. However, I own a timeshare in Colorado that I owed for two years of maintenance fees. That was included in the bankruptcy. I also decided to surrender the timeshare since I have had difficulty selling it in the past. I figured that surrendering it would be the best option to get out from under it. But, I still have the deed to the property. I called my attorney and asked him if in fact it was surrendered and what I should do with hte deed. He said He would have to get back with me and let me know.

I have gotten myself into an endless situtation and need help with getting the harrassing phone calls to stop. I want some help with negotiating a pay off so I can get them paid off and done.
