Can wages or bank accounts be garnished in South Carolina or liens be taken against property?

This is ridiculous. My wife and I just completed their hardship program, and as a result our monthly minimum payment doubled. Which we can't afford. I've called every number I could find over the last couple of days and the best they can offer is missing a few payments to see if someone in the collection department could help me. It's completely absurd. I have paid them on time every month since entering the program, working very hard to get my credit back on track. As a reward they say I've "completed" the hardship program and am ineligible to reenter for the next twelve months.

A civil judgement from this company shows up on my credit report from this co. i can't pinpoint where this debt came from..where should i start. a sheriff has delivered judgement papers to my home 2 times in 3 years..what do i do??

I posted a thread lasrt week wondering would it be possible for me to get my money back after sending a letter to them stating why, and also sending them part of the Illinois Payday reform act. I still haven't sent it, but something happened that has me scrathing my head. My last pay period was 4/29 since the 30th fell on a Saturday. When I checked my bank account, the usual $89.00 that Beacon debits wasn't there.

I currently have a contract with Lloyd Ward Assoc. and most of my debtors have settled. Amalgamated Bank at $3,000 is left. I will shortly receive a debit card from SS Admin. so will no longer pay by bank auto debit but will pay by m.o. debit card or cashieres check. Is this acceptable? marion nardin

I keep getting phone calls from a group that tell me if I do not pay a certain amount by a certain date that they will turn this over to the local police department. Can they do this?They have even used a local phone number but will not leave any message.

I was given a company credit card by an employer I worked for in the late 90's through 2002. The balance was always paid by the employer and I never saw the monthly statements. I left under good terms at a time when the company was having financial problems. Skip forward to today (2011) and I receive a call from collection agency saying there was an unpaid balance on this card and I am responsible for it. Since the statute of limitations has passed they are threatening to issue a 1099c to the IRS.
