I have managed to rack up 3 different credit cards totaling $58,000 in debt, and I really need advice on the best way to handle my terrible situation. I spoke with a company that handles debt settlement, which from what I gather, my credit score will drop about 100 points, but this can get taken care of faster. Does anyone have any advice on this?

My husband and son opened a joint account at a jewerly store over 16 years ago. After my son finished paying off the account I closed the account and opened an account under our name only. My son then opened his own account. My son then purchased an item years later and the jewerly store which is no longer in business re-opened the joint acct without our knowledge. Then my son lost his job and did not pay he used a debt consolidation company.

What are the steps that one can take to avoid Identity theft?

My total credit card debt amount is $100,000. As you can understand, the amount is quite huge. It is just impossible for me to pay the amount. So, i have decided to file bankruptcy. The only problem is, my cousin brother co-signed for the card on which I incurred debt. I just don't want him to suffer for my mistake. So, my question is, which bankruptcy will be better for my cousin brother? Will it offer any kind of protection to him?

lost job due to company relocating last day on job was 12-17-2010 so that means im on unemployment..when i got this credit card back in 2006 i had a good job,i lost that job after 7 years due to downsizing..i couldnt pay my bills making min.wage so the bill went unpaid..well ive not gone to court but this debt collection co. has froze my abank acct.i didnt think anyone could take your unemployment for an old c.c.debt...what do i do i have.12cents left in bank?

midlandfunding has taken all of my money from bank acct. I have not gone to court and ive been on unemployment since 1-1-2011 due to company closing. how can they do this without going to court?:confused:

I have lost 2 credit cards yesterday. I don???t have any wish to cancel the credit accounts. I would like to have new cards with new numbers. What I want to know is that, will my credit score be hurt after canceling the credit cards?

Today I recieved a call from a collection agency claiming i owe $1500 on a bank account that i over drew $20 on in 2007. I don't know what i need to do never been in a situation like this. I don't understand how its $1500 that just doesn't make any sense to me. I have no problem try to pay back something i owe i just want to make sure its the correct amount, and these people actually own the account. what do i need to do they claim if i don't pay they will summon me to court?
