Are there any easier ways to get a grant to pay off debt? All I keep getting are websites that want money to find out information that I know is probably free.

I have found the posts on this forum very helpful but have not found any posts concerning this subject. It's probably a silly question but I'll ask anyway. My husband and I have two credit cards, Capital One (interest rate 15.9% - balance around $14,000.00) and Bank of America (interest rate 12.9% - balance around $13,500.00). We have only been making the minimum payments but have not been late yet.

We have been recieving several calls from this Takhar group on what I don't know. They say that they ae calling only to speak to my wife as knowing not who these people are and seeing as we do not owe anything to anone. We know no one in Niagra falls NY and also I hav medical insurance who pays all of our debts. I have heard lots of not so good things about these epeople who we have not ever heard of. When we owe a bill it gets paid asap. Can you help us and find out what bill we supposedly owe. Then it will be paid.

Overseas PDLs The only PDL company I still owe money to is Advance Me Today. I closed my bank accounts and sent out the letter, but they are refusing to work with me. I resent the letter, and this was their response: This is a St. Vincent company. St. Vincent and the United States are both parties to the General Agreement on Trade in Services, a treaty which specifically permits companies in one country to make consumer loans to citizens of the other. Under the treaty, we are only obligated to follow the federal laws of the United States.

received summons and it has on the complaint "subject to mandatory arbitration" what is mandatory arbitration? Is it good or bad?

I need help to get out of the PDL cycle. I am switching jobs and will not get paid till middle of May. Called all companies I have PDL's with (internet) none will work with me only small extensions with enormous fees. Checked with SC consumer division and she confirms all 4 are not licensend in SC.

I have two accounts with Chase. Totaling about 17,000. I am about 75-90 days past due. I told them I could not make the payment and gave them various reasons. Like my mortgage and fuel payments were my priority. They said they understood and didnt call for about a week. On the next call I told them I may be getting some money for an income tax return. They told me they would settle for 90%. I told the rep I couldnt do that. She then told me to make a reasonable offer. What is a reasonable offer? Should I try to settle the two accounts together?
