Hello everyone, New to the site and hoping to get some information on wage garnishment due to a defaulted student loan. First of all, I tried going back to college a couple of years ago trying to establish something in my life. However, I had to drop out because I could not support myself financially and go to school at the same time. I work at night (I normally get home at 530AM) and had a hard time getting to class and eventually fell so far behind that I had to drop out. My loan (originally with Sallie Mae) has defaulted because I made the worst mistake possible; I ignored it.

(sorry about the repost, i didn't know i was starting a new thread) I have a couple old debts that are on my credit reports in which the SoL has been reached by over a year. I have not been contacted by the creditors, i just want to be free of it so I can start rebuilding. what should I do? dispute the report? make a statement about it? i know I don't want to go opening up that can of worms with the creditor, although there isn't anything they can do about it (unless i screw up and don't say 'alleged' about the debt). thanks in advance.

I cannot contact this company on the phone etc. I want to validate a statement by them of an item in collection. I have never heard from them and have no knowledge of this issue. Help

My question is about pdl consoildation or there any real company out there that can really hep you with these payday loans.

my Wife is filing bankruptcy we don't have joint debt,we recently married i am still in green card holder.when i go for citizen bankruptcy how will affect me? file bankruptcy that they can then turn to me and collect or garnish my wages, bankruptcy will affect my credit?

Just wondering is is legal to send a credit card debt to a attorney and have them file a judgement against me?

When I filed my complaint with the SC Department of Consumer Affairs, I used: 1129 Vassar Dr NE Albuquerque, NM 87106-2620 Yesterday, I received a letter from the SC Department of Consumer Affairs notifying me that this address was not valid and their mail had been returned to them.

Hi everyone--I've started reading here recently, and I've already learned so much. Thanks to everyone for all the good advice. I want to try settling instead of bankruptcy, but I'm very concerned about something. I've seen a few comments lately about the good settlement offers starting to go away as the economy supposedly improves. Am I too late? I'm just now starting to miss payments, so it will be at least a few months before I'll be able to settle. Do you guys think I'll still have a chance of getting some decent offers?
