What is a citation to discover third party assets

my son and I are being sued for an accident my son had. The amount is outrageous. According to the insurrance company they will have an attorney defend me. But they do not give me hope because of the limits in the policy. I have a feeling that I and my son will have to pay some serious money. I cannot afford an attorney. If after all is said and done I cannot pay this suit because I might loose my job or because the amount to pay is to much will put my family and I behind on every financial obligation we have, including the mortgage.

Can the Bank of America refuse my partial CC monthly payment and then send me to collections or to an attorney?

Hello all. Here's my scenario: -1st mortgage $2000 -Equity Line $260 -Credit cards $40,000 with very high rates -Student loans $20,000 -Auto lease $435 (mature date 10/1/2011) -Auto lease $410 (due to turn in 1/1/2013) My wife and I have been living a nightmare for 3 yrs. and the kids are very unhappy and scared. My wife makes $120K per year and I've been unemployed for 2 1/2 years and was ineligible for unemployment because I was self-employed. We used the credit cards and equity line to live on and pay expenses. Wife has only been making $120K for 1 year.

I went to mediation for a credit card debt. We agreed on an amount and was told I would get the order from the court in 2 weeks, it has now been 4 months have not recieved it. I have called the attorney's office and no one returned my call, I have sent them two letters and still nothing from them. I have sent them the monthly agreed upon amount but am wondering if I even have to since I never recieved the court order. What should I do, continue to send them my money or send them a letter stating until I get the court order I will not be sending them anything?

I received a debt settlement offer for significantly less than I owe. I want to accept the offer and pay the amount but, I'm worried that i might have to pay the taxes on difference. My assets and my debts are pretty equal, give or take a few dollars except for my wife's Sweden-based student loan that totals about 100k. If we count that then we are certainly insolvent. Question: Can we count student loans held/owed in another country that we are currently making payments to? Thanks.

Dear Nelly, My 67 year old mother has been harrassed by RJM for over 4 years now, on a daily basis. She was hospitalized from 3-23-2011 to 3-29-2011 for double pneumonia. While there, she recieved on average two, sometimes more, calls from RJM. I intervened by speaking to them and politely asked them to please not call for at least a week to allow my mother to heal and get discharged from the hospital. They said "certainly", "no problem", which was a lie. They continue to call. I spoke with them three times in less than 36 hours.
