I have defaulted on a loan with Checksmart in Utah - a storefront. I owe them $1200 total, but just could not keep paying the extension fees -I was getting nowhere. I had to pay my house payment and utilities first. I am working with Oak View Law Group - just started - but today when I spoke to the collection dept at Checksmart corporate they told me I was out of time. Either I need to go in today or tomorrow and pay a $200 extension fee and give them a new check to "buy me some time" as she put it.

Hello All, I too am experiencing the circle of PDLs. But, right now I feel as I have found the forum and the information somewhat too late. But, better late than never. The situation is that in trying to honor the obligations to the PDLs of what I owe, I went to a debt consolidation company to get help. The company advised me to close my account, but I did not as there are many direct deposits that go into the account that take time to change and wanted to avoid closing the account.

I'm just curious if any have received a wage assignment at their job, how long after default did they send it and which company or collection agency sent it? I'm up to speed on court ordered vs. voluntary, how to stop them etc.. what I don't like is the fact you can lose your job if more than 2 wage assignments are submitted

So today I got a call from a private number informing my wife that I was being sued and for me to call this number 8882466420 with a case number. I called the number an was informed it was for a credit card that I had with HSBC and that they were a a process surver and needed to confirm my residence. I called Hsbc to find out that I did have a outstanding balance with them from 2008 of $562.00 so i tried to pay. Hsbc told me my acct had been sold to another company Forward Property inc and they provided me the number so I called them and number was no longer active.
