Sallie Mae & Wells Fargo

14 years 11 months ago
I have multiple student loans. One is private from Sallie mae and the other is Federal through Wells Fargo. Original loan from each is $20,000 Total: $40,000 I've been paying collectively to both about $450/month for over 5 years. And apparently the amount I was paying (although I thought it was more) is only about $10 more than the minimum payments. So after 5 years of paying thousands of dollars I review my accounts to see my principal balance and I nearly $*&% myself. Total of approx. $39,200.

Sallie Mae refused to work out a payment plan for

14 years 11 months ago
Sallie Mae refused to work out a payment plan for my daughters student loans. She graduated over a year ago and just recently found a job. I got a call today from Oxford Credit Mgmgt threathing to take me to court as a co signer on the loan and told me I had 2 hours to give them $4000. What are my options, who can I call for help? I refuse to be bullied by these rude people. She wants to repay the loan once on her feet but needs a monthly payment plan...no-one has $4000 in 2 hours these days.

Should I stay in DMP with Consolidated Credit with just one card left?

14 years 11 months ago
Hello, I am currently on a DMP with Consolidated Credit. I consolidated 6 cards in May 2010 for $11000. Now,all credit cards have been paid off except for 1. (I paid off my other creditors on my own after getting a big bonus.) Target Bank has given me 0% apr thru my DMP. Is it better to just stay on with Consolidated until my debt is paid in full or cancel with them because it is only one card that i can now easily pay off in 4 months?

Unhappy customer

I have been enrolled with PFS since 2009, although they have settled a few accounts, they provided me with incorrect terms, therefore, what should have been pd off 2/11 now has another 10 months to go. their error, they know, they wont admit it and I'm screwed........of course, they have already taken 95% of their commission......so now I'm on my own! they won't reply to emails either! Not good, not good at all!

I have 2 student loans I have been paying on for 6

I have 2 student loans I have been paying on for 6 years. I only owe a little over 800 on one and 1100 on the other. I was hoping to pay them off this year for a lesser amount. What do you think is a reasonable amount to offer?

My husband has had a payment agreement with MRS As

14 years 11 months ago
My husband has had a payment agreement with MRS Associates and has paid off the debt. The folks he has talked to at MRS agree that his account is closed. However, 277.00 continues to be debited from his account monthly, then he has to email the guy who is handling this at MRS proof that the payment was made and they send us the 277.00 with a note that says 'refund of automatic payment' or some such. We have emailed, talked on the phone, etc., and are at wits end as to how to get them to just close the account already.

PAYDAY 1 legal???

14 years 11 months ago
I was contacted by a collection agency who would not give me information on 2 so called payday loans form Payday 1 in 2008 and 2009 but telling me they would settle for 60% one loan is 709 and one is 504 both these loans I am told have NSF and interest tacked on them. I lived in California I did take ONE loan out with this company not 2 and I was sure it was paid off. How do I research these loans before they take a civil suit out on me? I no longer live in CA and the collection lady hung up on me when I questioned her about these loans...
