In January, I received a small claims court notice from the state of CT telling me that I'm being sued by Midland funding LLC through another lawyer's office. I've never heard of Midland Funding LLC nor the lawyer's office that worked with them. I responded to the summons stating that I had no knowledge of the debt, had no idea who Midland was, however if the debt was validated I would work out payment arrangements. (probably shouldn't have said that, but I did). Instead I just received a State of CT Superior Court notice that I have a hearing in May.

I just recieved an email from my payroll person saying that i'm going to be garnished for 120 days. I'm guessing it's because of a foreclosure back in 2009 (i divorced in the same year). How much can they they take and how long can they do it?

I have been called every morning for the last week by this collection agency asking for someone that is not me. I want it stopped but when I call them back it is impossible to reach anyone. I want them reported to the FDCPA. They not only have the wrong person but the wrong phone number..

Has anyone ever heard of the Hudson Law Firm. They called me and would not give me any information but they had all of my information. They said that they were going to turn the amount over to the court. I don't even owe anyone that amount.

First off I want to say I am new here and wish I would of found this place a year ago. I lost my job in March of 2009. Had gotten divorced about 6 months before that and took most of the debt as the divorce was my idea. So when I got laid off I had some very high debt with very little income. I'm now self employed and making it but could do better. I pretty much "ran" the first six months and then in Aug/Sept last year started calling people back and worked out a lot of payment arrangements as I don't have cash to settle.

We have been paying Richard Bourdeau & Associates a small payment each month for an old debt. The statute of limitations for this old debt ran out 2 years ago. Do we still need to make these payments? Can they sue us, or repost the debt?
