should I pay off debt before getting a job?

14 years 11 months ago
I got into debt problems when I was 18 years old. Three years have passed since then. I have graduated from my college and will start looking for jobs. I have few charge-offs on my credit report. My question is, do I need to pay them off? Will it create a problem in getting a job?

I have a credit card with 2,200 balance. The minimum monthly payment is 56.00 and the interest charged every month is 46.00. I am a college student with a low paying and low hour job. Im not going to lie, my parents use to pay this credit card for me until last year when they started losing alot of money and their real estate went downhill. Since they have been suffering with their own problems they turned over this bill to me along with my school bills.

Requesting receipt of pay off account

14 years 11 months ago
I have been contacting several people in the customer service department after an account was paid off in January and requested a receipt to be send to my address and email account. But as of today, I have not yet receive any document from Oxford Management. I have spoken to at least 5 people and all of them told me that they are going to mail or email me the receipt within few days. Who do I need to contact to get the receipt to be send to my address??? I can not open a bank account without this receipt. Please forward this request to manager that is capable of handling this request.

Student Loan and the co-signor

14 years 11 months ago
A friend of mine co-signed 3 private student loans for their daughter. The daughter is out of work and so is the co-signor. They have been in touch with the lender on MANY occasions trying to work out something until they are both working again. They sent them several 100.00 payments when they could, her daughter sent weekly payments of 25-50.00. The lender told them they could not help lower the payments or defer them or anything. Now they sent the loan to the first process of collections. They were so nice to contact the daughter with options that a person with a job couldn't afford.
