I have a few questions pertaining to Garnishment. My boyfriends bank account was garnished, starting yesterday. It seems The Law Offices of Michael & Associates obtained a judgement against him. What I find strange is he was never served papers regarding a court date or the lawsuit. He received a summons back in 2009 for Mann Bracken for the same debt, but quickly called and set up payment arrnagements with them before it reached a court. He paid them every month as agreed.

I received a letter of from John P Frye regarding an account that had been turned over to their agency from HSBC. The agency agreed to settle with me for a certain amount and said that I would be completely released from this obligation on behalf of Atlantic Credit and Finance. They also said that they would contact the credit reporting agencies and mark the acct. as satisfied. Is this enough information that I won't have to worry that they would resell the account to another agency. The settlement was approximately 50% of the amount.

I took out a loan back in August of 2010 of $510 due to a personal emergency. I paid the first payback of $185.66. Then my situation got worse, and I just couldn't pay it back. I believe it's my moral obligation to pay what I borrowed. However, a collections agency, Professional Debt Mediation, is harassing me at work saying I owe $834.34 or they will garnish my wages. I do not have the any funds at this time, much less if they garnish my wages. If I revoke the wage garnishments do I send it to PDM or to My Cash Now? Any help and advice will greatly be appreciated.
