allied called and said i had to start paying on my student loan or it would go into default and they would garnish my paycheck :(

I started getting calls about 2 months ago. I spoke with the rep who informed me that they were collecting a debt for $1600ish and that the account was originally for Capital One in 2001. I told her that my ex husband used my SS to get the card. He used it and then didn't pay the card. She said she needed my address to mail out some forms, i refused. I have already filed disputes on 3 charges that he made using my SS, I did that through a different company 5-6yrs ago. I do not want them harrassing me via mail as well as by phone. I am so confused, I have cleaned my credit up.

I got a call from "The Department of Crime Prevention" today, telling me that they were going to send a cop to pick me up and arrest me. When I asked for the phone number of their company they gave me 661-347-6528. They would not give me their address or what ammount I "owe". I cannot find anything about them online. Doe's anyone have any info on them? I contacted my states Attorney General's Office and they Santa Clarita Police Department (because that is where the number is from) and am thinking about calling my local PD. What would you do??

I received a meassage today from a Mark Thompson saying he is from Legal Dept US Legal Services for allegations on my SS# and that I am to call him back at 347-903-9521. What's so funny is the SS# he gave is wrong!!!! So glad I joined this forum. He tried yesterday to call my work I told the person what was going on so they told him He had the wrong number. He called 3 times and finally the person told him that this was a business and needed to quit calling. Hasn't called today at work yet. Is there anythign else I need to be doing!!!

Hi All, I just found your forum and I am very thankful to see that there are people out there willing to help people like me!! I live in Florida. I have one storefront loan through Advance America and 6 internet pdl's. The interest on these alone are killing my paycheck each month and I cannot afford to pay my regular bills. I am desperate to get out from under these things but have no clue where to start.

What does ND HSBC NV stand for? It was on a list of copanies that have requested my credit history. I never applied for one of their credit cards, should I be concerned that someone is trying to take out credit cards in my name?

If w2's are returned with a new address, am i required to resend or just make available at the place of employement?

If you don't owe any money to any debt collectors, then just tell Allied Interstate they have the wrong person and they will (by law) take you off of their calling list. I called them and asked who they were and before I could finish, they asked me if I was "Daniel." I told them, "No, my name is not Daniel." The operator took me off of their calling list. If you think you might owe some money, then you should do what Nelly suggested.
