i got a loan through paydayone and never paid it do to lost of wife's income, now two years later a collection company called crc calls my work and me about the balance. i told them i am filing chapter 7 and the guy stated calling me a loser and a bad father that lives with in-laws and then said they our going through with the civil suit. Can they really sue me for a $750 dollar loan???

i have a number calling saying there is a lawsuit out against me. it cannot be true becuase they say i owe 500.00 some dollars from a a payday loan. I have not received these funds. Their number is 559-339-0358. guy claims he is steve smith or clark or whatever he feels like at that moment i guess. I have a balance with a university in the state of Florida that is about five to six years old. I attempted to pay the balance and was advised that a portion ( $675.00)are for collection fees. Is it legal for the university to charge me such fees? According to their representative the fee is for hiring a collection agency and cannot be petitioned

I see this question over and over and in some instances across the internet forums people have found that the plaintiff was not really the plaintiff in the suit. I think its a significant issue, some States do not require Collection Attorneys to be licensed as long as they are representing a client rather then buying the debt. It does change how you would defend an action against you. especially when faced with an affidavit, do they have original knowledge?
