I received a summons from Ed Overcash, "attorney for" Cach, LLC for an unpaid credit card debt. I answered a summons with a letter offering a settlement of the debt. I now realize that this was a mistake. I just received a Motion for Summary Judgment. What should I do now? I live in SC and the SOL is not up.

Sued for debts by buckles and buckles law firm of Michigan due some debt i believe was done by stolen identity of discovery card. I only owed a1800 dollars, that when they got it was well over 5,700. When I went to court, the courtroom was closed, they purposely sent me notice of appearance on the wrong day. The bailiff walking the hall, went back to the clerk office and told me that that judgement had been entered 3 days earlier on a Friday. No notice of that hearing did i ever get. Writing to the Attorney General, he stated they did nothing wrong.

I am in TN. I have 11 loans, all internet pdls. I have blocked my account and the calls have started. One Indian guy is calling saying only God can help me with what is about to happen to me. I went to the TN website to try and see if the lenders were licensed in my state but could only bring up the storefront lenders so it was no help.These are my loans.

To the person who says that Asset Acceptance Corp is not a debt collector, it is obvious that you have not read the Federal Law known as the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act , particularly section 803, definitions which states " The term "debt collector" means any person who uses any instrumentality of interstate commerce or the mails in any business the principal purpose of which is the collection of any debts, or who regularly collects or attempts to collect, directly or indirectly, debts owed or due or asserted to be owed or due another.

So this is kind of a side question based on my original concern with Dorsey Thornton and Associates. For a few years I had to take out several PDLs, which in hindsight was a bad mistake. (Frankly I've been without PDLs for over 4 years, and very happy about it). Anyway, so DTA is going after me for an alleged pdl I owe money on, they want $500 more than I allegedly took out. I've sent them debt validation letters, requested they stop calling, etc..

Hello all! I have been able to determine that the state of SC requires an internet PDL lender to be licensed in our state; however, I am having a very difficult time finding out if my lenders are licensed or not. Does anyone know if the following lenders are licensed in SC, or can anyone tell me how you go about finding out?
