Today I received a voice mail message from a place called CCB Credit Services. They only left a voice mail, no information as to why they were calling. If this place is a collections agency aren't they required to send me a letter so I can request a validation of the debt prior to calling me?

Okay, long time lurker, and I finally registered to ask a few questions. I plan on doing a good full introductory post this weekend, but had a question that just couldn't wait. I signed on with Debt Care USA to settle my 7 cards in spring of 2010, and they had the standard process of taking their fees upfront. So as it stands, of the $10K I've payed them, about $3500 is in my escrow account to pay down debt, and they've pocketed the rest while doing nothing more than telling me to pay nothing and wait for better offers.

I am a moron, and an idiot! I took an installment loan from First Bank of Delaware, and cannot afford to pay back the loan due to my other financial obligations! I was able to make one payment, in December, and ???pushed??? the other payment forward until January 14th, 2011, (the payment was due today 1-6-11).

Hello Everyone, So I wasn't sure where to turn, I didn't really want to go through embaressing myself on the phone with the bank.

I started my cease and desist letters in early December and had some good luck -- both Kingston Financial and Fox Enterprises accepted my letters and issued PIFs. Unfortunately SDS Processing and Alpine Direct Services (both of which I already over paid) wanted no part of this. I got some "reminder emails" and one email from Alpine offering me the opportunity to settle my account, but no reference to my C&D letters.
