My wife owes 190.00 on a seven year old debt, I spoke to the collection "human being" on the phone trying to settle for 125.00 The "person" said they could not send out paperwork agreeing to this amount saying it "was against company policy" to do so. Only way to settle they said was by giving them our checking account number which I refused to do. Told them I would only communicate by mail and told them never to call my wife again. I am sending a certified letter to this company tomorrow telling them not to call her at work or home. What should be my next step Thanks :evil:

I am in the state of ohio and any help input on this would be greatly appreciated. The letter I received from the court contains the following: "you have been named defendant in a complaint filed in *** municipal court by Midland funding llc A copy of the complaint is attatched. The name and address of the Plaintiff's attorney is *** . You are hereby summoned and required to serve upon the plaintiff's Attorney a copy of an answer to the complaint within 28 days after the service of this summons on you, exclusive of the day of service.

For the last 10 months I have been on a repayment plan to pay a defaulted school loan.....I have complied with all their terms and today I was informed that i would not be allowed to get off the default program. The case worker I have been dealing with for all these months as mysteriously been transferred to another department. I have been out of work for two years and doing this program put major stress on me financially but I completed it...I should be praised for a job well done...not screwed for my effort.
