I just got a call from the above person with exact same type of message. No mention of original creditor, dollar amount etc.... just a case # and a threat that papers would be filed if I didn't volunteer to cooperate. Couldn't find a hiller & Associates. Douglas sounded like he was in a boiler room full of amateurs. I thought this was Joe Gallo's # anyway. I suspect a scam. Should I take the same course of action? Pressure them for all the details? Thanks.

We have several pdl's out right now, we are paying $1000 in fees a month, and we really are in over our heads now. We live in Misouri and I have been reading that we have some of the most relaxed pdl laws out there. I am really at the end of my rope, what would you suggest?

I, too, have been called repeatedly by IAG. For some reason, I decided to do some research myself and found this forum... thank goodness! I do owe a debt so I contacted the last known debt collection agency and he told me that their client had recalled the debt. So now I'm questioning whether or not IAG truly does represent the actual company that I owe. They didn't even have the correct amount, even after asking twice. I guess that's what got me suspicious. She also threatened me with a lawsuit and "pretended" to talk to the lawyers to see if she could hold it.

I am reading a lot on these board regarding Judgments, and garnishments no one seems to know about and catches them off guard. What I want to understand is, being how fraudulent debt collection companies can be, how common is it for collection agencies to skip the due process, and file a deficient judgment with the court, (and thus a deficient judgement went garnishing wage accounts?) If the debt collection agencies are doing this illegally, obviously, arent people going to fight back and the courts are going to know that due process wasnt served.

I have had my credit account suspended by Target because I have overpaid the balance owed. Anyone else have this problem? Also it seams that Target National Bank is close to broke, they are "Floating Cash" . All transactions from bank to bank are electronic, yet they have made me wait more then 5 days to "Honor" my check and I bet they will make me wait another 5 days making the total wait 10 days. I have experienced this from other banks as well. GCG

I got a call today from a collector saying that they would be serving me a letter of intent to start litigation over a payday loan from 2 years ago through Check N go. I called check n go and they said it had been sold to another collection agency. Can I really be sued by a collection agency? The guy that called this morning said he was a process server and that he wanted to give me time to get it cleared up before he serves me. Doesn't this seem weird? I worked in the banking industry for a couple of years and when your being served they just do it. No notice at all.

Tow years ago I borrowed $300.00 from an internet pay day loan company. Over the next 5 months I paid them $1250.00 back. They said that was all interest (except for $50.00). I found out this company was not even licensed in my state--I close my bank account and wrote the company letting them know that they would get no more money from me. After a few nutty phone calls they faded away. . . now a "collection agency" is calling me at work and at home trying to collect on this debt. I wrote them a validation letter, I told them not to call me at all--to communicate only by USPS.
