What is your biggest problem with getting out of debt. Is it just the credit card company or is it the bottom feeders (Debt collection agencies). The reason I ask this question is because the debt collectors are the ones who mess your credit up by reporting you to the credit bureaus and use unethical tactics to make your credit report bad.

i have people calling me for the debt that i am in and telling me that if i consolidate my bills that i will still be able to get credit still while this is in prcessing is that true thank you

If the collection agency agrees to settle a debt, but does not want to send a settlement letter before getting the money, should I still settle? They say they need the money now. Can I record the conversation as proof of settlement agreement?

I currently have a title loan with this company and in July 2010 their license with the AZ Dept of Financial Institutions was closed. I've had nothing but trouble with the company, my monthly payment and due date continue to change each month, none of the payment is going to principle, and they are holding the title to my car. Is there anything I can do? I owe $1,800.00 and I wish I could pay that off it would solve all of my problems, but that's not an option right now. Of course out of all the payments I've made it's close to the $1,800.00. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I just received a threatening email from this PDL stating that I am bound by their license because I agreed to their terms when I provided my "electronic signature." I advised the young lady who wrote me that her organization is prohibited from lending to residents of California and, that in order to do business in California they are required to be licensed. The initial amount borrowed was $300. The renewing rate of $90 was taken from my account twice.

Hello all. I just wanted to let everyone know that I called the CFSA today about The Cash Store DBA Cottonwood Financial. I was told they weren't members of the CFSA by the store manager but seen on the member list on the website they were. I called to verify and the lady I spoke with said they recently withdrew their membership. They paid for the year but no longer are a member. I wanted to share this information with everyone. She informed me to call corporate and speak to a DM to set up arrangments. Have a great day.

First are green dot debit card deposits subject to garnishment? I read where wages garnishments are not allowed in Pennsylvania; is that true?

I had my meeting of creditors back on September 8th, 2010 and just received my discharge letter, I have a second mortage of 29,000 that I haven't paid since June 2010, I haven't received any phone calls or letters from them, should I continue not to pay, what should I do?
