I just had to end a phone call w/1st Sources "manager" and now I'm really peeved!! I have already signed up with a debt consolidation company when I receive a phone call stating that I had been turned over to 1st Source. They were representing Target. An account that I have been trying to pay off for quite sometime. Last week I agreed to pay the loan off at a 50% deal 1st Source was offering me. However, the rep kept saying that my chosen debt consolidating service was lying to me. I learned from CCCS that Target had already accepted my proposal and 2 payments.

I can't believe it! Friday when I got off from work, went home and received an email from the FDIC my bank is closed, no third party took over and I will receive my funds in the mail. It is a horrible feeling, no bank, no money, and have to wait until I receive my money in the mail. Only great thing about this is all of my payday lenders no longer have access to my account.

I received a letter from Collection Professional Services saying I needed to pay 2776. within 35 days on a 400 pdl that was initiated 11/06. I live in NC. I paid 544 in fees on this account and accelerated fees were added just before the account was closed on 1/07 in the amount of 2264....It was listed as charged off 2/23/07. Not sure what to do at this point. Is this collection legal?
