Capital One is taking me to court and seeking a reward. I sent their representing law firm a letter for Demand for Arbitration. I have a reciept for thier letter. I called them today and they stated they are going to continue to take me to court and seek their reward. They confirmed they received the Demand for Arbitration letter. I do not know what to do next. They did ask if I had filed the demand for arbitration with the court and condesendingly asked where I was getting my information from. In short, What is Capital One's representing law firm up to. and what shall I do next.

We just settled with the evil BofA for 40% on an auto loan deficiency. Once they report it as "settled" on the credit report, can another CA come after the difference later or is it finished?

I received a civil suit summons from Asset Acceptance for a debt I don't have knowledge of and is not on my credit report. the summons says to answer them in 28 days but the only address is a po box How do I respond to this and have it dismissed in court?

I have read the other posts concerning defaulted Federal Student Loans being sent a Collection Agency, but need some more concrete advice on how to solve the problem. I defaulted on my two federal student loans and they were sent to a collection agency (Allied Interstate). I have not lived in the US since 2001, and currently live in Sweden. After being unemployed for some time, I finally found a job and contacted the Department of Education today only to find out they had referred the debts to collection.

I am looking for assistance in dealing witn these two 'organiztions,' for lack of a better term at the moment. Earlier this year, I got into an auto accident (was riding shotgun). This particular event made a negative impact on a lot of areas in my life, my finances being one of them. Out of desperation in paying the bills and such since I'm the only person in my house that has a job, I took out a loan through this company, among others. That is a huge mistake. I was not able to pay them back, I'll admit that.

My fiance was unaware of what was on her credit report and I had no idea she had past debts that were unpaid. She lives at my house even though she still has her parents house listed on her driver's license, school registry, etc. She is a lot younger than I am and I'm not blaming her for making mistakes some years back but simply want to help. There has been one voicemail message left on my machine from a collection agency and she has now received mail, at my house, from Midland Credit Management.
