how do i consolidate debt that does not have any credit card debt?

if collection adgency is contacting me i regards to a debt but is not registered with the state to collect in my state what can i do to stop them from contacting me besides a ceast and disist letter, which has already been sent. i just dont want them to sue if they arent even legally able to collect.

First of, what a great forum! Here's my story. Just foreclosed 2 months ago on my home that had a first mortgage and a HELOC with Wells Fargo. Both banks agreed to foreclose and first mortgage wrote off the difference from what they received at closing and WF HELOC received $5,000 at closing but that didn't forgive the balance of $95K. Now they want me to pay in one lump sum 30% of balance($28,544) which I obviously can't do! If I had the $$ I would be paying on the loan. This is the first "settlement offer" letter I have received. Any advice would be appreciated. I live in MD.

i recieved a settlement letter, saying thank you for a final payment for an account i never had. they are going to report the settlement to the irs and i will have to pay taxes on the forgiven part! don't have a clue what they are talking about and am afraid to respond with info. is this a scam to get my information?

Does anyone know if ABC Payday Loans and E-Payday Loans, both internet lenders, are legal in Indiana?

Hey Everyone, Despite a certified mailed cease and desist letter, I get ridiculous harrassing calls from a bill collector that is frequently names on this forum, but I dont want to say, in case those employees are searching this board. , They are just ridiculous, malicious, and out right fraudulent. I have every call recorded, transcribed, etc. They left me alone, after they received my cease and desist, and the guy called to inslut me about writing a cease and desist and debt validation letter, (which they ignored) I've noticed a step up in collection efforts recently by them.

As of today companies like Cash Central or Apply Advance America do not offer loans to Maryland residents. Looks like they cannot charge the CSO fee anymore therefore they decided to stop doing business in Maryland. I got a loan from USFastcash.com for $400. They have been taking out $120 every two weeks. I thought I understood how this worked but apparently I don't. After five payments of $120, which was the fee, starting 10/15 they will be taking out $170.00, which is the $120 plus the $50 principal. I thought after the five payments I would ONLY be paying the $50 biweekly after that. When I click on my account I have a choice to pay the $170 or $50 principal. So if I click on the 50, is that all they will take out?

Why are you taking money from my account? I do not know who you are please explain

Is Global Pay day Loans leg. in Indiana? They had someone call me today a Leon, and said I took a Loan in 2005, I don't remember it and they now want 312 this Wed. said they had sent paperwork on this last year, I never received any, and now want money by Wed They say it is now All gases financial and they bought out Global and the collection agency is Credit Control a Leon.[RIGHT][/RIGHT]
