I am working with Credit Solutions, good coach who is always available to talk, he advised me to do nothing but let me accounts go delinquent, don't answer calls or call any of my creditors and thus far I have followed his advice, stopped paying on cards in February/March of this year 5 cards, about $49K spread between Chase - $7,500 balance, at 120 days I was offered a settlement of $4,500, at 150 days I was offered $4,00, at 180 days I was offered $3,500, called them at the advice from my coach and offered $3,000..they took it ! Chase - $24,000 balance, will be at 180 days in mid October

If a person goes into default on a federal student loan but then becomes 100% disabled can their loan debt be canceled

Hi guys, my mother recently passed and in the process of inheriting her estate I also got the burden of the home equity loan she left. Now I do have enough money to pay off the final balance of $28,500, but I was wondering is there a way to calculate how much it will really be and what other charges they may add to it when paying it off

I've been offered a payment plan by AMEX, but my goal is to eventually settle with them. So I told them I don't have the income to set up a payment plan, and I've continued to not pay so I can save up for a future settlement. If I propose a settlement and tell them I can pay a lump sum settlement payment, will they start to doubt my story of not being able to afford a payment plan and subsequently not agree to settle? Has anyone experienced this? Jay

I recently started getting calls from debt collectors for over due credit cards. I spoke to them and asked if they could prove I owed the debt. I do have cards with them but my wife is also listed on them and she had always paid all the bills I never even seen a bill. Well She past away suddenly and now I get these calls demanding payment. Saying Iam over a year past due and asking me to make payments using my checking acct. or debit card.

One of your representatives just phoned my home by the name of "Spencer". I do not have any collection account with Midland Credit Management nor have I ever. When I reguested from "Spencer" if he was with a "Collection Agency" he advised me that he "didn't have to tell me that". That is not only WRONG but also ILLEGAL. This is the second time I have requested that we not receive calls from this agency. The "second" call today is again ILLEGAL. As a courtesy I am again advising you another call will be considered harrassment.

Does anyone else have a problem with recieving calls constantly, almost three times weekly for a person whom is not related to you or am I the only one who is being constantly harrassed? Some of the people who call have even yelled at me back, even though I am the one being harrassed and frustrated! How can I get them to stop calling?! They say they will remove the number from the list but they never do!

I have two payday loans kicking my butt. what do I do??

Has anyone ever dealt with University of Phoenix? I had a student loan with them that was discharged as bad debt even though I was making monthly payments to them. I almost had it paid off, only owe $200. I have been trying to work with them for a year to get it removed from my credit report before paying the remaining balance. I want someone that shows better than a paid charge off.... Any other suggestions on this!!!
